The problem with hanging indoor art outdoors

When I hung a few pieces of art on the back porch,
I figured I might have to straighten them occasionally
or dust them off. No big deal under ordinary circumstances.

This was not going to be an ordinary circumstance.

The nest was occupied so I gave the tenant a week's notice
to find suitable accommodations elsewhere.

Alex said I was being a pushover and began eviction proceedings.

  1. I'd be scared if I was that mouse.

  2. Omg haha.... I had a similar eviction this week too, tho it was a wasp trying to nest under the gas cap of my farm truck... hopefully your mouse situation will be similarly peaceful tho!

  3. Did she listen or did she get the mouse?

    1. She listened...eventually...and did not catch the mouse, who skillfully hid between one of the table legs and the wall while I convinced Alex to come in the house. There will likely be more episodes in this drama, judging by the amount of mouse poop I noticed on the porch this morning.

  5. I did wonder about the longevity of the artwork outside, but not as new habitat. However I did think that it might attract spiders/insects.

  6. Great video! Alex is almost bipedal- and a dancer!

    1. Her bipedal skills are extraordinary, to the point I think she may have been a circus dog in a previous life.

  8. That's too funny. Your supposed to give a months notice. I was amazed the mouse could go straight up the wall!

  9. And Smoochie? is she not up to chasing mice anymore? Or she's just chillin inside?

  15. Alex is a very determined girl. At first I saw a glimpse of video without context and thought maybe she was just climbing the walls :)

  16. I'm late getting to the video but I was really worried for that mouse. Glad you found him and his dwelling before something long and slithering got to it. Getting to be that time of year.

  17. Where's the Ranch Mouser? If I were JCC I'd be more than a little p.o.ed that I hadn't appeared on the blog in a LONG time. Does he get any 'alone' time with you on the porch? I miss you JC!!!
