I'm loving it! Those tails just kept wagging. Alex wanted so much to play with Smooch. I was happy to see Smooch gave in after a while. She'll get more exercise with a puppy around. Puppies just refuse to be ignored. Smooch is SUCH a good girl.
I'd call that a fabulous beginning of what is sure to be a very special relationship. Tails were wagging, and your special moment with Smooch seemed to reassure her that she is still your No. 1. Alex seems very smart, and while she has that puppy energy, she has a maturity about her, too. An 'old soul', if you will.
Just curious what JCC thinks of this adorable whirling dervish of a puppy? Happy to see these two pups playing together. Looks like Smooch has the good sense to know to let the puppy do the bulk of the racing about.
Thanks for this - it’s the best thing I’ve seen in a long time. Lovely Smooch, all affiliative and wagging her tail, showing Alex the best places to sniff. And Alex is such a puppy, all silly “crackerdog” (if you’re a fan of the old British James Herriot tv series) and curiosity. And what a great curled tail! Perfect.
Alex’s way of watching everything her big sister Smooch is doing is just so touching. And, man, it’s good to see sweet Smooch running a bit again!! Question: did Smooch think that leash (?) on the bench was a snake at first and had to investigate to make sure it wasn’t? I bet you are losing hours just watching the two of them play and interact - I know I would be!! Smooch’s friendly tail wags at Alex had me exclaiming out loud, “you’re such a good girl, Smoochie...”
This is awesome! I remember when my blind 9 year old dog met my mom's 2 year old dog. It gave me a migraine. I was in panic mode. But all ended up fairly well, but we pet parents are on high alert sometimes!
Awww, so nice of Smooch to be such a good big sis to Alex! She might even be thinking, who is this hyperactive cutie?! I'm glad to see that they are playing together! Yay!
I didn't realize your house had such a big shaded area! What a nice place for them to run around in! =D
A weekend post from Carson!!!!! You know it's special...... And indeed it is. Love it
ReplyDeleteWhat a joyful interlude. SO happy to see that Alex did in fact entice Smooch into a round of zoomies (aka fly bys aka plum crazies)...
ReplyDeleteSo great to see! They are going to have so much fun together!!!
ReplyDeleteWonderful video!!! I think Alex and Smooch are going to be good friends...as long as Alex knows her place. Smooch is a doll.
ReplyDeleteSo kind of a non event, it looks like. Excellent. So fun to see Smooch have someone to play with. And Alex is so cute.
ReplyDeleteA great friendship in the making:)
ReplyDeleteHeart melted...

ReplyDeleteCouldn't have been better! Alex is smart enough to show Smooch she won't challenge her. The double zoomies were awesome. Love this. /Gretchen

ReplyDeleteYou could not ask for more! Wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThis was the best! I was hoping they would run together a little. I believe too that they will be good friends in no time at all.

ReplyDeleteCrackerdog - exactly and thank you for that memory of the books by James Herriot and then later the series!

So much love at home on the ranch. Digging to China lessons commence on Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteThis was just an awesome video! Smooch will teach her all she needs to know! Congrats on the new addition to your wonderful family!
ReplyDeleteSo sweet
ReplyDeleteSmooch is teaching Alex to be on vermin alert, although Alex doesn't understand yet that she is mimicking that behavior. Nose first, always. So sweet.
ReplyDeleteYea what a relief! Has Alex met Johnny Cash Cat yet?
