Born in the wrong century

When Lucy and I are out on the trail, I like to imagine it's a few hundred years ago,
when the world was a much simpler place.

  1. Love the photo! When I visit, I always think about cowboys, Indians and the pioneers...how did they do it? What's even cooler is that you still travel on a road as rough as wagon trains did ;-)

  3. At least your ranch is a peaceful refuge. That's one reason why so many of us are sitting in our pjs every morning having coffee with you and the herd. (Smooch and Johnny included of course).

  4. Linda, the view always looks so much better framed by two long ears.

  5. Amen to that sentiment. Feel I'd be much happier (less "informed", more time) without all my modern "conveniences".

  6. Pretty sure it wasn't simpler. The difficulties were different, but just as difficult, I think.

  9. I always think that too but then I also realize how many modern conveniences I would miss. Betsy

  10. Yes, a good imaginary place....but then you wouldn't have microwaves to install or the internet for us to follow you!

  12. I ride on a trail where there's no modern noise or structures and I really enjoy it. But simpler times were a lot more work and I really love dishwashers, washing machines and indoor plumbing.

  13. I wouldn't like to be a woman 100 years ago! can't imagine having to ask for money to my husband or father or brother and not being able to go where I please!
