Backsplashin'

One day when I'm not worn out from installing a backsplash,

I'll tell you the story of  "Lucy and Ethel install a backsplash."

Meanwhile, I need a vacation from my vacation.

  5. You two are quite a team; beautiful job. Dittos to Sandra; you have a very nice view while washing dishes! Maybe some day you could tell us about the "horse trailer" on your counter.

  6. OMG ... that is beautiful and it definitely ties in so well with the rest of the stainless appliances in the kitchen.
Question: Why in the world do you have your paper towel holder so far removed from both the sink and the stove? Unless, of course, you don't use them all that much in the kitchen.

    1. It's close to the prep area and I can reach it from both sides of the peninsula.

  8. Oh super! You're done! I only live a thousand miles or so north in an old country farm house that could use your talents! ;)

  10. Are they metal tiles or metallic tiles? Either way, they look easy to keep clean!

    1. They're stamped sheets of pvc but they feel and look like tin.

    2. Ah, so the hardness in the well water won't eat them because they're pvc. Brilliant!

  12. All that you have done to fix up your kitchen is great. Love the counter tops, appliances but especially the back splash. Looks like you and Ethel deserve those adult beverages and a vacation. Great job

  14. It's beautiful. I didn't know there was such a thing as pvc tile, much less such a beautiful pattern. I hope its beauty makes all the work of removing the old tile a fading memory. Tile removal is not just hard work, it makes such a mess! Did you cut out the old sheet rock? You and Ethel do such good, hard work!

    1. Peg, the best part about this stuff is that it installs over existing tile so the old backsplash is still under there. Please tell Dave to check out the outlets - his suggestion saved the day.

    2. Carson, those outlets look perfect. I'm glad my suggestions worked for you. Having my ideas work for you feels almost as good as coming there to help you do it would have felt. Plus, I'm missing out on the margaritas.
