A place for everything

During the week, I sit at my computer working all damned day.

Lest my bottom get any bigger, I make a concerted effort to get out of my chair

for a few minutes every hour. This usually involves a brisk walk

to the end of the driveway and back. Smooch joins me for these little jaunts,

and we make quick work of it by dashing out the sunroom door,

walking our 365 steps, then returning to do it all over again an hour later.

My jacket, hat and gloves have been cluttering up the sunroom all winter.

Since my dislike for clutter is borderline OCD, I thought it best to devise a solution.

I couldn't find a suitable coat rack to purchase at a reasonable price,

so with a little internet inspiration and railroad spike hooks that I found on Etsy,

I got to work.

I found some reclaimed barn wood in the garage...

...and turned it into a coat rack with a shelf...

...which I stained with white wash.

Ta-da!

No more clutter.
