Poor Lucy. Do you know anything about the history of the donkey? The difference in the "traditional" colors and markings like George and Allen, and the dapple of Lucy? Developed in different countries?
I know enough to be dangerous. George and Alan are the "mutts" of the species, bred in the wilds of the west from feral stock; Lucy was bred with intent from fancy purebred mammoth jack stock. Different colors, different sizes, same delightful personalities.
Are there any donkeys/burros with non-delightful personalities? It just seems like everyone who has them has always beamed about their wonderful personalities.
I'm so enjoying your 'spoonfuls' posts! Thanks for digging in with your blog and changing things so that you can keep posting and contributing something positive and special.
Aw, poor Lucy--could it be that the reason for your wanting to play is that you're in-heat-crazy, making the boys feel "overwhelmed" (I didn't want to say "inadequate")?
I would if I were there.
ReplyDeleteShe's such a naughty lady.
