great viedo! love your twirl figures! I didn't know we could lobby on the retirement destination! for coffee cup, next step would be to have one you can wear your cup shoulder strap : http://www.soif-de-gourde.fr/accessoires-emil-die-flasche/187-bandouliere-pour-gourde-en-verre-emil-die-flasche.html
Here's some info I sleuth-ed out yesterday: Safest City - Lewisboro Town, NY Safest State - Vermont Best Water - DesMoines, Iowa Best Air - Portland, OR Best Rural Water - Curtis, Nebraska Best Cities for Senior Living - Seattle, San Francisco, Milwaukee, Pittsburg City with Best Drs. - Portland, Austin If I had to choose from what I read/found yesterday, Portland would win. However, looking at your wish list, and considering the utopia you have created from scratch, I wonder if you could/would consider putting some digs on your back 40 for a ranch hand/couple to live in that could help you with the chore doing so you could age in place?
I consider the age in place thing all the time and keep landing at the same conclusion - this place is too remote for most people and finding and keeping trustworthy resident caretakers would likely be impossible.
Rosie and Lily are too cute but they may have a point about retiring to New Zealand. It's gorgeous there! I'd wait until after the election here to make a decision. You might run screaming to them ....
Only you can make a routine walk around a fence fun! Nice choice of music, too! I'll be your valet if you move to NZ. Amazing country with awesome people :-)
Rosie and Lily need to stop right now. Shameless. Did I mention Arizona is one of the few states you can live in and be in winter climate and if you drive 2 hrs or less you can be in summer?! Also, we have cute dogs too.
North Dakota..I moved here from CA 8 years ago, and super happy. Moved by myself, well with 3 horses, 1 ewe and 1 dog. Yes we have some sub-zero days, but from May to Oct beautiful weather, and green!. Very animal friendly, best vet and farrier. Two hours to airport, Fargo or Bismarck. Back to the winter, I've learned how to cross country ski, snowshoe, been on a snow mobile(didn't like). Housing, farmsteads very well priced. oh and no poisonous snakes! minimal humidity! Lisa
My first idea was that you love where you are and should stay in the same state, but less remote. But you seem open to new landscapes and Eastern Washington/Oregon might make you happy. Those volcanoes are our prettiest features, just don't live atop them. I like that you got a vote for Sequim, it's gorgeous, sunshine on bluffs above the ocean, but I don't think you can get as remote as you like there, from my visits.
Thanks for the Smooch walk video today - I could see it cuz you didn't break music copyrights.
You have made NM very attractive to me in all your posts. I hope to someday experience it.

DeleteFunny how many times Portland, Oregon comes up on that list...

Even if New Zealand isn't a practical solution, I think you should go and check it out! I'd move there if they'd have me!!!

We are nothing if not shameless when promoting our homeland. Heather, Rosie and Lily
ReplyDeleteNZ is an interesting place, but they have a 6-month enforced quarantine for pets. :(
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun walk! The music is perfect and you make it so interesting!
ReplyDeleteI didn't know you had 7MSN caps!?!? Do you have a store somewhere online?? Maybe it can help fund your future home??? (hint, hint)
The hats used to be available on Café Press, but they don't offer the same kind anymore and the ones they do sell aren't as nice. So no more hats.
DeleteWell, crap. I need to make extra sure I don't rough mine up too much!
Deleteput you hat then in a nice glass furniture!
DeleteBoo. I was really looking forward to funding your move by buying one!
DeleteLove the lobbyists - they make New Zealand very appealing!
ReplyDeleteLove Rosie and Lilly. too cute
