I will never be able to top this Fourth of July celebration post from 2012, so here it is again.
Be safe, enjoy your holiday, and eat lots of watermelon.

George: Mom's been decorating the barn again. Must be a holiday.
Lucy: You know this has trouble written all over it.
George: I don't mind. I'm proud to be an American.
Alan: Hooray for the red, white and blue...and green? Mom, I need a new halter.
Hank: Let's have a parade!
Lucy: I'll be Grand Marshal.
Lucy: Ok, boys, line up! Smallest to tallest. Hank, you're last. Alan, get over here!
Alan: Geez, she can be bossy sometimes.
Lucy: Hold on...let's watch the marching bands go by first.
Ok, get on up here, Alan.
Me: Good job! Just a few more blocks, then watermelon for everybody.
The one spectator lining the parade route was disappointed that no one was throwing out candy.
Lucy: You've had your fun, now where's my watermelon?
Me: I'll go get it right now. You just stand here and keep the folks at home entertained 'til I come back.
And please don't embarrass me by drooling. It's not your best look.
