Me: Pssst...Johnny...wake up. I'm home.
JCC: What's your point?
The feral beast may not appreciate the fact that I have returned from a five-day absence,
but I, for one, couldn't be happier. Desert dwellers who live alone in the middle of nowhere
do not do well in overly populated, excessively humid, congested environments.
There's no place like home, and I'm never getting on an airplane again.
I realize I've said this every time I post a post post-trip, but I mean it this time.
He's happy to see you. I can tell.
ReplyDeletewelcome home, and i am still hear living in this Floridia heat/humidity...
ReplyDeleteWelcome home! I hope you can enjoy some time with Ethal before she leaves.
ReplyDeleteI don't fly anymore either. It's an inhumane way to travel. Train, bus or car or I just don't go. It just isn't fun anymore. Am I just getting too old? Ha! Glad you're back safe and sound. The desert must be lovely and quiet in comparison. Glad you got to see your Mom again.
ReplyDeleteOf course you're never getting on an airplane again... Just like you're never getting attached to an outside cat again. Out of the question. It's good to have firm principles.
ReplyDeleteWelcome home. Johnny just has to play it cool. It's a cat thing.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it nice to have an animal go crazy with joy when you come home? Haha. I agree a million percent about planes, ick! Maybe bearable in 1st class but I'll never know.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on that! Were driving back to Cleveland in October because we said we'd never fly again. I was hoping you wouldn't have a video of the guy in front of you on the plane. Thank you!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, welcome home! Home is never as good as when you come back to it!
ReplyDeleteGlad you're back. So is JCC. He's just got an image to maintain. Good job Ethel. Aunt Jean
ReplyDeleteWelcome back! I'm sure there is a story behind the comment that you are never flying again, perhaps you will share sometime? Have to agree that going from living in quiet solitude to congested city life is brutal, even worse if you have to drive in the city.
ReplyDeleteThe trip home: flight 1 left an hour late, raced to make connection in Dallas only to learn flight 2 had been delayed for two hours for maintenance issues; sat behind obnoxious person on flight 2 who turned out to be crazy drunk and halfway through the flight he just leaned his head into the aisle and barfed for 10 straight minutes. The armed U.S. Air Marshall sitting behind me stepped in to help the flight attendants control the situation. I was hoping the drunk would get arrested but no such luck.
DeleteOMG! That would have done it for me, I don't do barf, afraid I would have been adding to the mess in the aisle. And you are right, he should have been arrested.
DeleteGlad you are home, nothing like sleeping in your own bed. I'm with you, I could live happily ever after if I never had to get on an airplane again.
ReplyDeleteI am with you on your opinion of flying. Kitty will warm up to you again, never fear.
ReplyDeleteWelcome home!!
ReplyDeleteI don't think it's in a cat's nature to show enthusiasm for an owner's return... even if they are secretly glad. As for flying, I'm with you. It could be age on my part (as I love 'actually flying'), but not the crowds or the complications that make it all a hassle now-a-days.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back home LC. I hate crowded travel as well. Hope you have some fun friend time with Ms. Ethel now and as for JCC.....cats love to punish their "caretakers" when we don't live up to expectation or change their schedules or environs. But you know that. He's a ring tailed tooter as my Daddy Jack would have said. Hope you enjoyed the time with your fam. xoxo Oma Linda
ReplyDeleteWelcome home!!
ReplyDeleteNever say never, but I agree with you...nothing is better than home!! =D
Even though we love Ethel and how she takes care of everyone, WELCOME HOME!!!! JCC was probably just too hot to rouse himself to greet you properly. I'll bet Smooch went crazy to have you back again. Look forward to hearing more of your adventures. By the way, do you and Lucy still have your weekend treks?
ReplyDeleteHaven't heard or seen any mention of that for a while. Joan.
Ouch! That sounded like an AWFUL flight!!! I agree - there is much more peace in being a hermit!
