It's 91 outside but 75 inside. Smooch and I picked wild flowers.
I told them I'd meet them halfway...cookies were given out.
They were so patient with me!
I think I want one for a purse!
It took the chickens all day to squeeze out the brown one because of the heat.
Mrs. Hughes said they needed a meeting.
I told her to put the word out and
have everyone meet at the water cooler.
They would like a fan in the coop, some elevator music to relax by,
and more mud when it's over 90 degrees...
...or they would walk off the job.
Your baby has been looking for you.
She sometimes still thinks that you're in the truck, but she's happy.
Isn't this cool? We found it on our walk.
The bones will be awesome when he dries up!
(This is why Ethel and I have been friends for 46 years.)
oh no, the chickens are in revolt while the cat is away, the mice might be playing to.. that is a cool dead frog.. Smooch looks like the heat is getting to her
ReplyDeleteI keep the hose trickling for my chickens when it's hot. They love standing in the puddle and drinking the fresh water. Also, I share my fresh fruit with them....mostly the red grapes.
ReplyDeleteThis was a nice post until the last picture ;-)
ReplyDeletethe perfect ranch sitter!
ReplyDeleteOK, I was not expecting that last pic! You guys are weird (in a nice way). Looks like Ethel has everything under control until the snakes show up, lol.
ReplyDeleteGreat post! Great friend! Hope you have a great trip! (Need to look up synonyms for great...)
ReplyDeleteDitto.
DeleteLooks like everyone is having a great time:)
ReplyDeleteBe careful, Linda Carson! Ethel will give you a run for your money! Thanks for keeping our 7MSN postings up to date.
ReplyDeleteSo nice that you can enjoy your vacation knowing the ranch is in good hands. Does she let JCC in while you are gone?
ReplyDeleteIt gets hot down here and my chookies get a mud bath every day to help them cool off. They paddle in it till the water soaks in, then they dig into the cool, wet soil. Happy chickens!
ReplyDeleteLooks like all is well chez toi!
ReplyDeleteAnd she even keeps us up to date with funny posts - not a bad temp, that Ethel. But I badly regret that I zoomed in on that last photo, didn't really need to know what is was...
ReplyDeleteHi Ethel, you're doing a great job. The flowers are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteGreat post, Ethel! I'd cave to the chicken demands. They are little badasses.
ReplyDeleteThere is nothing better than friends of 46 years who still delight in the carcass of a frog. Just the best.
ReplyDeleteNot many people can say they have good friends ( for 46 years ) who will bring home carcasses for you !!! You rock Ethel !
ReplyDeleteI'm surprised you didn't have to wrestle the chickens for the frog!
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures and comments, but the last one was a bit surprising!
ReplyDeleteI guess you can look forward to more bones for a future art project?!
