It's a Monday thing

Monday morning chores take a little bit longer than the rest of the week
because that's when Lucy and the boys get their weekly tick prevention treatment –
a thorough application of Frontline Flea and Tick Spray in their ears.
This has been going on for 83 Mondays, so it's no longer a big deal.
Had I made this video back when we started, it would have been much more exciting.
They taught me early on that they prefer not to be haltered and tied for the process,
and just because it comes in a spray bottle doesn't mean it has to be used that way.

If I were them, I would demand a helluva lot more than one cookie
for this level of cooperation.

  1. So glad to see you glove up! My vet and I were just talking about that. He has clients who actually rub it into their dogs...Ew!

  2. I use Frontline on the dogs, but didn't realize it came in a spray bottle. Is that specifically for larger animals? I will have to check into it. Learned something new today. Thanks!

    1. The spray is for dogs and cats. Our equine vet recommended this treatment and it seems to be working.

  5. They are so good for you but they trust you and I love to see that.
I see that Lucy likes to take over the doorway with her bigness...so sweet

Ps. Will that be one of my chores?

    1. Yes, if you're up for it. If not, we can do it a day late.

  6. They're so amazingly Zen about it! I didn't know it comes in a spray bottle either -- I use it on my dogs.

  7. That is SUCH a good idea. I often have a 'conversation' about using bug spray with my guys. Two of the four don't mind the spray bottle at all, and in fact in fly season come to me as soon as they see I have it. The other two .... vamoose!

  9. I'm almost surprised that you need it. I think of ticks as grass-lands pests, not desert. But I can see how those cote, hairy long ears could be an issue. They don't need it elsewhere?

    1. No. Isn't that weird? I've never found a tick on their bodies. I think our ticks live in the juniper trees and they love to jump into those cozy, dark ears.

  10. The things we do for our animal family! I have an insulin dependent dog who seems to understand that she needs her shot twice a day and is so compliant about it. I bet they know that anything you do for them is for their own good. Love all the gopro videos. Lisa G in TN

  12. Amazing as it seems, they must know they couldn't get better care anywhere in the lower 48. Aunt Jean
