So there I was, lying face down in the dirt,
doing my best to capture the essence of my chickens.
The feral beast took exception to my activities.
First he came over and sat next to me.
That wasn't disruptive enough, so he crawled up on my back
and began to whisper in my ear.
JCC: I'm much better looking than they are. Take a picture of me.
JCC: I'll curl up here until it's my turn.
Johnny...as only a cat can.

It appears the feral beast has been tamed. And why have I never noticed that the color of your hair and his fur kind of match?
ReplyDeleteAwwwwww that's wonderful!
ReplyDeleteBE CAREFUL!!! BARN CATS ARE NOT FRIENDLY!!! Unless, of course, they love you and you serve a great purpose like providing a warm bed in the middle of the yard.
ReplyDeleteHe is right, he is much more pleasing to look at that a chicken eyelid. I love the way he shoes his love for you. How could you not spend the rest of the day photographing him?
ReplyDeleteWhat great pictures! I can't believe you were able to take them. Did you hold the heavy camera out with your left hand/arm or did you use your phone? The last picture is so damned sweet!
ReplyDeleteI used the heavy camera, propped on the ground.
Deletep.s. because I'm the last person on earth without a phone that takes pictures.
well there just aren't enough words for how cute he is. He obviously know you belong to him.
ReplyDeleteNow THAT is a happy cat. Love it.

Ha! Played like a cat. So who took those pictures, Smooch?
ReplyDeleteThat last photo will destroy the Feral Beast's reputation for sure.
ReplyDeleteHow did you get that picture of him on your back? That reminds me of why I can't do Yoga at home.
ReplyDeleteAgree with everyone else, priceless pics, especially the last one.
ReplyDeleteWhhaaattt, you don't have an iphone???? I thought I was the only one still living in the dark ages, lol.
I love your life with animals.
ReplyDeleteOrange cats are just the best :-).
ReplyDeleteI was expecting him to chase the chix away, not climb up and fall asleep. So cute.
ReplyDeletesoooooo cute :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I love it. That last picture is just perfection. Johnny is such a cat! LOL.
ReplyDeleteJohnny's cover is blown. He is a snuggly dollbaby. The chickens are laughing at him and plotting.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Shelly, I love watching your life with animals!
ReplyDeleteThese pictures are wonderful! Does your camera have a rotating screen so you can see what the camera sees? If not, you really nailed the aim. My favorite was the shadow picture until I got to the last one. That one tells such a story. Love these!
ReplyDeleteI love the last pic.....the essence of happiness!
