Because Easter is next week, and because I have more eggs
than I know what to do with, and because yesterday I saw pictures
of brown eggs decorated with a silver Sharpie and got crazily inspired,
I had to try it myself, starting with blown out eggshells.
Of course I consulted Professor Google regarding "how to blow out an egg."
All the methods I saw involved: a) tools I didn't have or b) lung power I didn't want to use.
So I came up with my own technique.
Next comes the fun part...Sharpies!
Smooch might like a scrambled egg, maybe even Johnny.
ReplyDeleteI remember blowing out eggs once when I was a kid. I thought my ears were going to explode and my eyes were going to pop out. It was not a positive experience at all. Decorating them was fun, of course. We used bits of lace and sequins and beads, haha. Sharpies sound like more fun!
ReplyDeleteI remember blowing out an egg as a child too. Kept me busy for a while. Did not become a tradition. Just a nice something different to do.
DeleteMe too, in 4th grade! We just used a pin to pierce both ends, and it was kind of hard to blow out.

Excellent way to empty them. With something more sterile than the baling wire to break up the yolk, you could even eat the innards! Wonder if sucking up and down a bit with the syringe might break the yolk up enough. Or a narrow knitting needle, or a bamboo skewer.

ReplyDeleteYou could always just hard boil those guys and paint them anyway you like and guess what. Egg salad sandwiches, deviled eggs and the list goes on. You could have an Easter Egg fry up with the neighbours.

I'll tell ya someone who would love some of your left over "dirty" eggs.....your turtle buddy Steve. Turtles love raw, scrambled or however and egg would be available. I hope you see Steve soon. My ranmbling mini tanks are already wandering the garden here in 'burque.
