No visit to the 7MSN is ever complete without a hike up Petroglyph Cliff.
I took the GoPro this time so that you might experience what's in store for you should you ever visit
in person. I have it on good authority (Mr. Scientist from this post sent me an email)
that the petroglyphs on this cliff were the works of the Southern Tewa Pueblo,
who occupied my neighborhood between 1350 and 1500 A.D.
Danni, Paul and I partied with them in spirit.

ReplyDeleteAlso, very glad y'all had such a good time! Apparently it was neither chilly nor windy?
Thanks for taking us along, I love the video!
The weather lately has been freakishly perfect.
DeleteLong may it continue!
DeleteWow. So awesome. I'm wondering if the 'snake' symbols are like an ancient 'there be snakes here' warning? I'm wondering if the 'moon man' is indicative of an alien visitor? I'm wonderin' if when you got to the top, if the trek down looked impossible? Thanks for sharing this adventure here!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a trip! Looks like quite a climb but what a sight to see and what a view.
ReplyDeleteWow...spectacular views. Makes me wanna visit

Looks like a good time. I love the music.
ReplyDeleteHow far are they from your property? The ones around here are on popular hiking paths and people are drawing over them. No respect for anything.....
ReplyDeleteMaybe 5 miles? The local folks know about them but passersby would probably never find them.
DeleteSO cool to see and what a privilege to live so close to these. Hopefully the Southern Tewa Pueblo's cast a lucky spell on you. Betsy
ReplyDeleteNice journey. Thanks for sharing. I, too, worry about vandals. Sigh...
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, so very interesting to imagine what their life must have been like?
ReplyDeleteI hope that area is a well kept secret! I'd hate to see those wonderful pictures(?) ruined.
ReplyDeleteI think the old spirits were probably happy to have you three visitors there!
I think they probably took a sip or two or a bite when you weren't looking! hee hee! ;)
I won't forget this wonderful day...the incredible weather, the cows talking to us from a distance, the amazing history of the place, super snacks, two of my very favorite people, and beer and tequila. Could anything be more perfect?
