I'm a minimalist when it comes to Christmas decorations.
I usually come up with some sort of tree, then proclaim the decorating done.
Smooch: You've got several burned out bulbs here.
Smooch: It's tangling before my very eyes.
This year's tree is a rusty horseshoe cactus, which I received from Steph
after she and her family visited the ranch last summer. Her uncle made it
and when Steph saw it, she knew it belonged in my house. How very right she was!
I particularly love the rusty-nail cactus spines...
...which proved to be just perfect for hanging ornaments.
This may be my most favorite Christmas "tree" ever.
Smooch: Except for those couple of burned-out bulbs.
A most excellent Christmas tree. I also love the boot ornament which may or may not have our birthstone embedded.
ReplyDeleteThat is just way too cool, and so you!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE IT !!
ReplyDeleteNo water required, no shedding needles and its no likely to topple over in the middle of the night like a drunken whatever ;).
Leave it lit year round ... then you can decorate with whatever floats-your-boat .... or moves the herd.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE it...and if it were mine, i would keep it up with the lights all year round and at Christmas add the ornaments. LOVE the ornaments to, especially the boot. Tell Smooch we can't see the burned out bulbs. and now i want one just like yours
ReplyDeleteLove that tree!
ReplyDeleteCool. My kind of tree but I still like your last 2 trees also.

ReplyDeleteThat is one great "Christmas Tree!"
ReplyDeleteMerry Southwest Christmas 2 u all!
ReplyDeleteThat makes a perfect Christmas tree for New Mexico.
ReplyDeleteYou have no idea how happy this makes us! We're glad you love it. :D It's not often that you can look at a bunch of rusty, welded together horseshoes and just KNOW where it belongs. To not have to worry that the recipient would think you're crazy is a bonus.
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! Love it!
ReplyDeleteLove the tree and I think Smooch does too! Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteMercy look how adorable your tree is! I love, love, love it! I have been in the midst of unpacking, so no Christmas decor for me this year. I feel lucky to have toilet paper on the roll! I sure wish I could find my paper towels. Happy Monday.
ReplyDeleteThat's wonderful!! I love your Christmas cactus tree!! =D
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely perfectly lovely! Merry Christmas, Linda.

That's so cute! Our potbelly stove is in the middle of our living area and since it's summer here, we usually just wind some tinsel up it and out some sort of christmassy statue on top of the stove and call it good. It isn't as cute as that though!
