Moving the thousand-pound hutch

Last week was spent helping Ethel get herself and her stuff back to Ohio.
I didn't take a single picture or video until Friday,
when a GoPro moment transpired and I couldn't help myself.

So maybe it wasn't a full thousand pounds,
but it felt like that much weight was lifted off our shoulders
once we got it in there.

Ethel and her stuff are now safely back in Ohio,
and thus concludes this drama.

  6. Can't believe you all have to go through this! I wish they could've bought another house near you -- all the way back to Ohio isn't any fun! Without knowing a thing about the true situation I'm going to blab off; if it were me, I'd want to sue everybody in sight: seller, agent, real estate company, maybe the mailman, somebody's 2nd-grade teacher & the guy at the corner store. Somebody -- not Ethel & Fred -- needs to cough up reimbursement at least for the costs they bear -- not just the truck, but lost opportunity in their "new" & old houses & any penalties this incredible misadventure engendered. I've never heard of anything like it! Well, hope they're settled & feeling merrier by Christmas!

    1. Ditto, all that! And curses on the seller forever, and ever.

    2. Or I should say, NON-seller!

  7. Bravo WOMEN! What would we do without each other!
And I must say that the legs on that hutch must be made of steel to have withstood the standing process.
    Well done!

  20. Carson, saw this article this morning and thought of you since you're not too far from AlbuQQ and travel to Santa Fe now and then. I thought the tone was a little critical of Albuquerque but interesting overall. I'm sure you could do a much better photo tour of the town.
