Same chores, different day

I'm taking a few days off, but be sure to stop by Monday if you can.
I've been keeping a secret for six months, which I finally get to reveal.
I can pretty much guarantee it will knock your socks off. And your shoes.
It's big news. Big big news. No, even bigger than that.
And whatever you're thinking it might be? It's not that.
Because in your wildest dreams, you could never ever imagine
that what's about to happen would happen. I still can't.
Which is why I'm not blogging about it until it actually, finally happens.
Which will be today...or maybe Friday at the latest.
Do I seem anxious? I am. And stressed. Very, very stressed.
But all of that is about to be over. I think. I hope. I pray.
And I'll tell you about it on Monday.

  1. Well, I'm not the least bit curious or excited.
OK, guess I'll limbo in some kind of happy-giddy anticipation until Monday. In fact, guess I'll hope&pray with you until further notice. I have this hunch that the B I G news will be GREAT news :-) (Anyone want to play a guessing game behind Carson's back? ;-))

    1. I'll play. I think she's getting a "ranch hand" or maybe a baby elephant or she's turning the 7MSN Ranch into a dude ranch and we can all vacation there and help her. Or she won the lottery and has to pick the check up. Or she's talking to Hollywood about the reality show THE7MSN RANCH. Or a sex change. I think I'll stop there.

    3. Now i'm thinking Baby. This is the guessing game, right? She bringing home a baby of some sort...

    4. Yes, my first thought was, a llama - but I failed to convince myself...

      Delete
    5. Yes I'm thinking a new animal of sorts. But then again a sexy ranch hand that will work with his shirt off isn't a bad idea either. Think of the videos and pictures she could post.

Well I'm sending you good vibes and hopes it meets all your expectations, and then some. I've never looked forward to a Monday like this before!

  7. Hmmm. You've given us clues. "It will knock your socks and shoes off." Clearly, you've decided to turn the 7MSN Ranch into a nudist colony! What did I win, Carson?

    1. Clearly! (OMG+lol - you do deserve to win - something - a fig leaf? ;-))

  9. How am I going to stand it till Monday? Sheesh! First I thought you were becoming a grandmother via Lucy, but that doesn't happen in only 6 months. Are you getting married? You're not selling up & moving to NYC or London? Aaaargh!

  10. Good lord, Woman! Do you know how many days it is until Monday!!! I'm with Irmgard, let's put our guesses in the comments and amuse each other as we tap our toes and wait…. I'm guessing there are four legs involved but I may be back to guess again.
P.S. I think Irmgard is fibbing when she says she's not curious or excited.

  14. Since I already know the secret (but wouldn't dream of spoiling it!) I can agree that it is VERY BIG NEWS. Thrilling. Laughingly wonderful. bLessed news. And yes, Anne, all I'll say is that there are 4 legs involved. Well, kinda sorta.

    1. Oh c'mon now, you're being cruel!! ;-)
Folks, 4 legs "kinda sorta". Be inspired! I'm taking bets!

    2. It would never occur to me to "lean" on you to divulge more information - I do respect sister solidarity! - but, uhm, do you know that we have excellent wines here, and beers by the way... I can also get my hands on some exquisite Swiss or Belgian chocolates... So... lemme know if you'd like me to send you some... for just an additional laughingly wonderful, blessed teenytiny hint...
      ;-)
(Ugh what am I doing? As if VW's crooked ways weren't enough to ruin our reputation...) Just kidding, Kathleen!

    3. Not happening, Irmgard, but nice try. (I'm into champagne and tequila; sushi and pasta.) And fortunately, my Audi TT convertible was built before the VW crisis! But let me think here...uh, no. Maybe not. Giggles and alcohol on the agenda, for sure.

      Delete
    4. Let's cut to the chase (so to speak). How much will it cost us to find out, Kathleen? Wait, nevermind, anticipation is half the fun of a secret..especially a wonderful secret! You coulda made a lot of cash but now I'm willing to bide my time and wait. Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun and MONDAY! Countdown starts NOW.

  16. Ohhh, MONDAY. I never look forward to mondays. I could never keep a secret for 6 months unless i forgot it. I'm guessing your getting a Jenny.
    Or you'll call her Jenny.

  17. Laurie got there before I did. What would make Carson anxious and stressed? Getting married, moving the ranch or having someone move in with you with THEIR herd?

  28. My best guess is that your mom is coming to live with you. Maybe mom has a dog that's coming too? Or a house cat? Or a parakeet? That would be "four legs kinda sorta." Whatever the secret is, my interest is certainly piqued! Have a wonderful weekend, Carson!

    ReplyDelete
  29. Monday is a long time from now! Geez. Happy for you whatever the news is. :)

    ReplyDelete
  30. Whatever the big news, hope it is a happy and wonderful turn of events for you and the herd. Since reading your teaser of a post I can't get the theme from that dating commercial from farmers.com out of my head.

  31. Nicely done, Carson! You have stoked the internet rumor fire so hot, I can see the flames from here! :-) :-) :-)

    ReplyDelete
  37. Hey everyone.....she was crocheting a blanket for a "soon to be baby" on her video she posted Nov. 13!! And Kathleen said it was "blessed news". That's what I'm guessing, a BABY!

  40. Oh, my gosh, can't wait to hear what it is! Guessing a new pig, or maybe a llama? But Carson says whatever I'm thinking it's not that, so how about some wild mustangs being transferred to her land for her to watch over? Like the Pioneer Woman does.

  45. I thought Retirement but I felt it weird with these 6 months wait. So I rather think now that it is a newcomer: a four-leg baby. I think it is a baby goat. Lynda, you should play that game more often because the posts you got are soooo funny, love it and love the waiting.

  48. OK, Kathleen said 4 legs involved, then "well, kinda sorta..." Carson is adopting TWINS? (Human type? that's kinda sorta 4 legs!) Or, she bought a Ferrari! 4 wheels could kinda sorta be called "legs" in a pinch, no?

    ReplyDelete
  49. Cattle? You bought a couple of longhorn, extra land and are going to become a cattle baroness? (That would be cool)

  50. Gee...and I just announced I'm RETIRING at the end of June! Hmmmm....I wonder what your announcement is! :-)

And if your age doens't allow for it, then adopted twins.

    Wow...

  60. The suspense is miserable. Just miserable.

    1. But also such fun! I mean, we do know it's super big news, so at least we don't have to worry!

  61. We saw Carson drinking wine just a few days ago. Pregnancy and alcohol don't go together. So, if the surprise is a baby (or two), it was born to some other mom (human, dog, donkey, horse, pig, alien). And besides, human gestation is longer than six months. It is looking more and more like an alien.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I do not like suspense, so I wasn't happy to read your announcement, was it only yesterday? Like others, waiting until Monday feels too long and makes the weekend feel like it will be tedious. I've come back here several times to read all the comments, done a little research . . . and I've decided what the news is: Lucy is having twins!! Can. not. wait.

  63. Maybe you're taking a much needed vacation to a warm beach where you won't need socks or shoes. Did it take 6 months to line up ranch sitters, get everything scheduled, including a pedicure for those bare feet? I wonder what the count of comments will be by Monday morning? Now it's showing 86. Maybe we'll break your counter. HA! It would serve you right. If not a trip, I'm guessing that Justina and Don are coming back, at least for a visit. From reading her blog, it seems they all love being on their new place so it won't be a permanent move. You don't have to tell me if I'm right, but is ANYONE right? Is anyone even close?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. At this point, I like the alien theory. Or she's getting a helicopter so she can airlift herself to the grocery store when the road turns muddy. These things sometimes have four legs (with wheels on them).

  67. I'm nervous. The ranch is such a part of my life and there's a big change coming. Carson had 6 months to get used to the idea but it's gonna be sprung on me tomorrow morning.
    I'm nervous.

  68. This is the longest weekend of my life. I would, under different circumstances, be delighted by the long, drawn out feeling of the past few days, but no. nada. This has been tortuous, and I cannot wait until tomorrow. I want to know!!!

    ReplyDelete
  69. VERY LONG WEEKEND ... keep checking back just in case there is another hint. Hmmm... likely happened on Friday ... but waiting until Monday to post about it. Does that mean Carson is away from home? Or is she at home adjusting ...? Or is she recovering? Yikes!

    ReplyDelete
  70. It's Sunday now, and I want to know, am I the only one to come back in here hoping there might be some new hint? I love the suspense! So much fun that people keep guessing! :)

  71. so at this point we have four-leg alien. and as we are promised bigger news we can think of, I conclude it is many four-leg aliens.
