I'm taking a few days off, but be sure to stop by Monday if you can.
I've been keeping a secret for six months, which I finally get to reveal.
I can pretty much guarantee it will knock your socks off. And your shoes.
It's big news. Big big news. No, even bigger than that.
And whatever you're thinking it might be? It's not that.
Because in your wildest dreams, you could never ever imagine
that what's about to happen would happen. I still can't.
Which is why I'm not blogging about it until it actually, finally happens.
Which will be today...or maybe Friday at the latest.
Do I seem anxious? I am. And stressed. Very, very stressed.
But all of that is about to be over. I think. I hope. I pray.
And I'll tell you about it on Monday.

Well, I'm not the least bit curious or excited.
ReplyDeleteOK, guess I'll limbo in some kind of happy-giddy anticipation until Monday. In fact, guess I'll hope&pray with you until further notice. I have this hunch that the B I G news will be GREAT news :-) (Anyone want to play a guessing game behind Carson's back? ;-))
I'll play. I think she's getting a "ranch hand" or maybe a baby elephant or she's turning the 7MSN Ranch into a dude ranch and we can all vacation there and help her. Or she won the lottery and has to pick the check up. Or she's talking to Hollywood about the reality show THE7MSN RANCH. Or a sex change. I think I'll stop there.
DeleteJanet! I'll sue you! It's been three minutes since I read your comment and I'm *still* laughing -
DeleteNow i'm thinking Baby. This is the guessing game, right? She bringing home a baby of some sort...
DeleteYes, my first thought was, a llama - but I failed to convince myself...
DeleteYes I'm thinking a new animal of sorts. But then again a sexy ranch hand that will work with his shirt off isn't a bad idea either. Think of the videos and pictures she could post.
DeletePraying it all goes as you hope. Lisa G in TN
ReplyDeleteWell I'm a donkey-on-the-edge now! Can't wait!!! Will be praying for whatever it is...CAN'T WAIT!
ReplyDeleteOh. My. God. You KNOW you've just deprived me of sleep for the next 96 hours??? Especially since I have ABSOLUTELY NO clue what this is about? Oh I'm SO vicariously excited!!!! (You're PREGNANT? just kidding)
ReplyDeleteWell I'm sending you good vibes and hopes it meets all your expectations, and then some. I've never looked forward to a Monday like this before!
A new herd member? Mom coming to spend a month? it's gonna be a looooonnngg time til monday now. Whatever it is, wishing you the best!
ReplyDeleteThat's not fair to throw a teaser like that out there ya know. Hope all goes as planned though.
ReplyDeleteHmmm. You've given us clues. "It will knock your socks and shoes off." Clearly, you've decided to turn the 7MSN Ranch into a nudist colony! What did I win, Carson?
ReplyDeleteClearly! (OMG+lol - you do deserve to win - something - a fig leaf? ;-))
DeleteCan. Hardly.wait.
ReplyDeleteHow am I going to stand it till Monday? Sheesh! First I thought you were becoming a grandmother via Lucy, but that doesn't happen in only 6 months. Are you getting married? You're not selling up & moving to NYC or London? Aaaargh!
ReplyDeleteGood lord, Woman! Do you know how many days it is until Monday!!! I'm with Irmgard, let's put our guesses in the comments and amuse each other as we tap our toes and wait…. I'm guessing there are four legs involved but I may be back to guess again.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I think Irmgard is fibbing when she says she's not curious or excited.
Fibbing? Me??? Never-ever! ;-)
Delete[* Interpret "sane" at your own discretion.]
(Oops, the remark in brackets doesn't make sense without context, please ignore.)
DeleteOK I am with the rest of this bunch! Monday is a long tome to wait!!! marsha@tubbslanefarm.com
ReplyDeleteBarefoot in anticipation !! :) :)
ReplyDeleteM in NC
:-) (Taking my own socks off now.)
DeleteLovely little video! :)
ReplyDelete(Andwhatisitwhatisitwhatisit?)
Since I already know the secret (but wouldn't dream of spoiling it!) I can agree that it is VERY BIG NEWS. Thrilling. Laughingly wonderful. bLessed news. And yes, Anne, all I'll say is that there are 4 legs involved. Well, kinda sorta.
ReplyDeleteOh c'mon now, you're being cruel!! ;-)
DeleteFolks, 4 legs "kinda sorta". Be inspired! I'm taking bets!
It would never occur to me to "lean" on you to divulge more information - I do respect sister solidarity! - but, uhm, do you know that we have excellent wines here, and beers by the way... I can also get my hands on some exquisite Swiss or Belgian chocolates... So... lemme know if you'd like me to send you some... for just an additional laughingly wonderful, blessed teenytiny hint...
Delete;-)
(Ugh what am I doing? As if VW's crooked ways weren't enough to ruin our reputation...) Just kidding, Kathleen!
Not happening, Irmgard, but nice try. (I'm into champagne and tequila; sushi and pasta.) And fortunately, my Audi TT convertible was built before the VW crisis! But let me think here...uh, no. Maybe not. Giggles and alcohol on the agenda, for sure.
DeleteLet's cut to the chase (so to speak). How much will it cost us to find out, Kathleen? Wait, nevermind, anticipation is half the fun of a secret..especially a wonderful secret! You coulda made a lot of cash but now I'm willing to bide my time and wait. Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun and MONDAY! Countdown starts NOW.
DeleteSounds like an appealing agenda to me! (And car, btw. Vroom-vroooom... ;-))
DeleteAt least one of us is going to have a nice weekend. My curiosity has reached a toxic level, and I'm staring down my wine rack for comfort...and ice cream. Lots of ice cream. It's hot here. and I want to know the secret.
DeleteYou're getting a riding horse, or you are getting married? Or you are retiring from work? Or are you already retired? Monday . is. Too . far. Away!
ReplyDeleteOhhh, MONDAY. I never look forward to mondays. I could never keep a secret for 6 months unless i forgot it. I'm guessing your getting a Jenny.
ReplyDeleteOr you'll call her Jenny.
Laurie got there before I did. What would make Carson anxious and stressed? Getting married, moving the ranch or having someone move in with you with THEIR herd?
ReplyDeleteHa! Ever since MBF moved away, I've been kind of dreaming about Danni cum herd (and husband, natch) moving to less depressing climes, somewhere close to 7MSN...
Delete♥ ♥ I wish, Irmgard! Someday, perhaps... :-)
DeleteI know you'll get to drier climes someday Danni - your a desert 'natural'.
DeleteMay your wish come true, Danni! :-)
DeleteDammit.... I hate anticipation.....
ReplyDeleteSo excited for you for whatever it is and so excited for us to share in the joy :-)
Oh delahlee! Monday, Monday ... how far away! BUT yet SO close. Hmmm... you have to take the weekend off ... Are you going somewhere to pick someone up? A whole lot of someones? You've known for six months... !! YOU BET I'LL BE HERE ON MONDAY! Good luck!
ReplyDeleteAaaaagggghhhh! That's too long to wait!!!!! :)
ReplyDeleteNew truck? New trailer? BOTH?? I know that trailer was making you nerve...the floor had a rotting spot i believe. I must go away and not come back til Monday. I'll watch the ships go by on the Galveston webcams for a few days. Stay warm this weekend, it's gonna get cold!
ReplyDeleteShe is retiring from her job?
ReplyDeleteAm awaiting Monday with bated breath and crossed fingers and toes! In the meantime, have just ordered your calendar. Best one yet -- the photographs are absolutely gorgeous! (And thanks for the tip on coupons!) With love and best wishes to you all!
ReplyDeleteJudyB
Oh man so many things running through my head: Are you getting Married, moving, got another horse????? I can't believe you are making us wait!!!! I hope these 5 days go by fast. I can't wait to hear the news. Good luck. Betsy
ReplyDeleteSince its happening today or Friday...in all fairness , you should tell us on Friday ! You adopted children ? That would make anyone giddy and nervous .
ReplyDeleteOUCH!!! DOUBLE OUCH!!! On pins and needles waiting for the reveal!! It's like I sat on a cholla....so pins and needles to the nth degree - but I get to look forward to a Monday!! I won't guess, but I love reading what everyone else is conjuring up!!
ReplyDelete1. Revealing an internet romance that's made it to the point of a weekend visit,
ReplyDeleteOR
2. Adopting/fostering a child (human).
My best guess is that your mom is coming to live with you. Maybe mom has a dog that's coming too? Or a house cat? Or a parakeet? That would be "four legs kinda sorta." Whatever the secret is, my interest is certainly piqued! Have a wonderful weekend, Carson!
ReplyDeleteMonday is a long time from now! Geez. Happy for you whatever the news is. :)
ReplyDeleteWhatever the big news, hope it is a happy and wonderful turn of events for you and the herd. Since reading your teaser of a post I can't get the theme from that dating commercial from farmers.com out of my head.
ReplyDeleteNicely done, Carson! You have stoked the internet rumor fire so hot, I can see the flames from here! :-) :-) :-)
ReplyDeleteKeeping my finger and toes (and eyes) crossed until your surprise appears. (yay)
You're lucky I don't live closer. I would be over there with my binoculars.
ReplyDeleteYou are moving! That is my wildest guess of course. Can't wait to find out the greatest news ever!
ReplyDeleteDeep breath INNNNNNNNnnnnn and OOOOOuuuuuuuuuuutttttttttt. Repeat as needed.
ReplyDeletethis will be driving me nuts!
ReplyDeleteA crawling baby would have four legs, kinda... those who know Linda personally, how does she feel about babies?
ReplyDeleteNope, an elephant. I think you've adopted an elephant! A sweet, wonderful, clever elephant.
ReplyDeleteHey everyone.....she was crocheting a blanket for a "soon to be baby" on her video she posted Nov. 13!! And Kathleen said it was "blessed news". That's what I'm guessing, a BABY!
ReplyDeleteOh! Great sleuthing! Can't you just picture Carson with baby in tow in a snuggly doing the chores. Hmmm...
DeleteMarried, retire or having a baby!
ReplyDeleteA new equine of some sort, a new puppy, a small herd of beef cattle, a kangaroo, or a duck billed platypus! Those are my guesses. Monday is far, far away...
ReplyDeleteREALITY TV SHOW!!!
ReplyDeleteOh, my gosh, can't wait to hear what it is! Guessing a new pig, or maybe a llama? But Carson says whatever I'm thinking it's not that, so how about some wild mustangs being transferred to her land for her to watch over? Like the Pioneer Woman does.
ReplyDeleteI hate cliffhangers!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I can wait until Monday!!!
Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!
What? What? What??? Do we really have to suffer through the weekend? Am dying here ...
ReplyDeleteAliens landed on 7MSN and you have been given permission to adopt the children!
ReplyDelete-A handsome jack is coming over to make sweet love to Lucy. A little Lucy will arrive in a year.
ReplyDeleteI thought Retirement but I felt it weird with these 6 months wait. So I rather think now that it is a newcomer: a four-leg baby. I think it is a baby goat. Lynda, you should play that game more often because the posts you got are soooo funny, love it and love the waiting.
ReplyDeleteHi Linda,
ReplyDeleteI so hope it is a sibling or relative of our departed Porcine Princess, I miss her cheeky face and wise cracks and wordly wisdom so much!
I was thinking this too. But then a recent video featured the feathered new girls still in the Queen's quarters...
Deletebut they seem to be of an age that perhaps they can mix it up with the older gals!
Deletemy name is linda too, I just don't know what URL to come in under, as I hardly ever comment! one of those lurker peeps.
Waiting... waiting... waiting...
ReplyDeleteOK, Kathleen said 4 legs involved, then "well, kinda sorta..." Carson is adopting TWINS? (Human type? that's kinda sorta 4 legs!) Or, she bought a Ferrari! 4 wheels could kinda sorta be called "legs" in a pinch, no?
ReplyDeleteCattle? You bought a couple of longhorn, extra land and are going to become a cattle baroness? (That would be cool)
ReplyDeleteGee...and I just announced I'm RETIRING at the end of June! Hmmmm....I wonder what your announcement is! :-)
ReplyDeleteThe anticipation and curiosity of your impending news has created a total brain-lock/brain-freeze for me. Seriously. I need to be planning Thanksgiving and Christmas, and all I can wonder about is your Monday morning post! AACK!
ReplyDeleteAAAAAARRRGGGHHH.....Yeah...what they said!
ReplyDeleteHank is getting knew replacement!
ReplyDeleteThat us KNEE replacement. BLAAAAHHHHH!!!!
DeleteYou are getting the oil changed on the truck AGAIN (does anybody but me remember that contest?)!
ReplyDeleteAre you going to be married?
ReplyDeleteWho is the lucky one?
It's Friday. Has it happened yet? What about now? Maybe just a little bitty teeny tiny hint?
ReplyDeletewe've got plenty: 6-month anticipation, 3 to 4-day trip, big big news, excitement and stress, white baby blanket, 4 legs
DeleteCould Lucy be pregnant?.... but that would absolutely be 4 legs... hummmm
ReplyDeleteHas anybody guessed an interview on Good Morning America?
ReplyDeleteNot Lynda alone then, we need four legs
DeleteTwins!
ReplyDeleteThere must be a reason for all this gopro camera work - we never seen your belly!
Plus you're not really sure which day they are coming.
And if your age doens't allow for it, then adopted twins.
Wow...
The suspense is miserable. Just miserable.
ReplyDeleteBut also such fun! I mean, we do know it's super big news, so at least we don't have to worry!
DeleteWe saw Carson drinking wine just a few days ago. Pregnancy and alcohol don't go together. So, if the surprise is a baby (or two), it was born to some other mom (human, dog, donkey, horse, pig, alien). And besides, human gestation is longer than six months. It is looking more and more like an alien.
ReplyDeleteI do not like suspense, so I wasn't happy to read your announcement, was it only yesterday? Like others, waiting until Monday feels too long and makes the weekend feel like it will be tedious. I've come back here several times to read all the comments, done a little research . . . and I've decided what the news is: Lucy is having twins!! Can. not. wait.
ReplyDeleteBecky
Maybe you're taking a much needed vacation to a warm beach where you won't need socks or shoes. Did it take 6 months to line up ranch sitters, get everything scheduled, including a pedicure for those bare feet? I wonder what the count of comments will be by Monday morning? Now it's showing 86. Maybe we'll break your counter. HA! It would serve you right. If not a trip, I'm guessing that Justina and Don are coming back, at least for a visit. From reading her blog, it seems they all love being on their new place so it won't be a permanent move. You don't have to tell me if I'm right, but is ANYONE right? Is anyone even close?
ReplyDeleteAt this point, I like the alien theory. Or she's getting a helicopter so she can airlift herself to the grocery store when the road turns muddy. These things sometimes have four legs (with wheels on them).
DeleteIf we could geolocalize Lynda's phone we would know where she is right now!....
DeleteHas anybody noticed that Ethel has not commented? Is she in on this??
ReplyDeleteYou're right....she must be in on this. ETHEL! (sorry, didn't to yell...oh yes i did)
DeleteOK, how about a non profit standing as a rescue ranch.
ReplyDeleteThis is Ethel reporting in...I've been busy but my guess is...she's adopting two refugees?
ReplyDeleteOh how clever a comment you managed to squeeze in here Ethel! ;)
DeleteI'm nervous. The ranch is such a part of my life and there's a big change coming. Carson had 6 months to get used to the idea but it's gonna be sprung on me tomorrow morning.
ReplyDeleteI'm nervous.
This is the longest weekend of my life. I would, under different circumstances, be delighted by the long, drawn out feeling of the past few days, but no. nada. This has been tortuous, and I cannot wait until tomorrow. I want to know!!!
ReplyDeleteVERY LONG WEEKEND ... keep checking back just in case there is another hint. Hmmm... likely happened on Friday ... but waiting until Monday to post about it. Does that mean Carson is away from home? Or is she at home adjusting ...? Or is she recovering? Yikes!
ReplyDeleteIt's Sunday now, and I want to know, am I the only one to come back in here hoping there might be some new hint? I love the suspense! So much fun that people keep guessing! :)
ReplyDeleteso at this point we have four-leg alien. and as we are promised bigger news we can think of, I conclude it is many four-leg aliens.
ReplyDeleteWhat time Monday? You usually post really early...5am-ish? oh boy. i can't wait. pins and needles. open open open....
ReplyDeleteI keep checking in too, for clues and hoping she will post early . It's just not right, some of us are old, our hearts can't take the supense. For the love of your readers ...please , please tell us the wonderful news !!!
ReplyDeleteI think she sold the ranch. And she's moving to the East Coast to be with Don and Justina and all the donkey boys. Or maybe not.
ReplyDeleteWell, folks, only one more sleep and then we find out...if you CAN sleep!
ReplyDeleteA pot belly pig has 4 legs-sorta. But I like a ranch hand with a side kick.
ReplyDeleteGahhhhh! I can't take the suspense. I'm gonna have to set my alarm early to catch this as soon as it posts.
ReplyDeleteIt's Monday overhere!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's Monday afternoon here now! Damn you, Timezone, I'm going to be asleep when the news breaks. :)
ReplyDelete
