True friendship

 You know who your true friends are when they travel thousands of miles cross country
to crawl under your horse trailer...


 to fix all the spots where the cussed rodents chewed the wiring.



Ethel dutifully fans Fred with a tree branch to shoo the bugs away while he works.

    Now why on earth doesn't someone invent some kind of metal mesh cover for the exposed wires of vehicles owned by people who live seven miles south of nowhere? Wow, I think I just came up with a million dollar idea! Have fun with Ethel and Fred!

    Google the images for "marmot proof your car". Maybe you could rig something similar for your trailer. It basically involves driving the vehicle over a large blue woven tarp and securing it up over the wheel wells with parachute cord or something. Big problem for backpackers at the trailheads in Sequoia Natl. Park in California is marmots chewing through wires and hoses of parked cars. The tarp solution prevents this.
