To this day, I have very vivid childhood memories of my mom waking me up to go to school.
She would come into the room I shared with my sister...
...and flip the switch to turn on the megawatt overhead light...
...and in her bright and shiny perky voice exclaim, "Rise and shine!"
Then I would bury myself deeper under the covers and vow that when I grew up I would never live in a bedroom with an overhead light.
"Rise and shine, George!" I said perkily as I turned on the overhead light in the barn.
It's official. I've become my mother.
One Geroges and so many sweet and funny faces, so expressive!
ReplyDeleteWe all become our mothers ....hard as we try not too!
ReplyDelete3rd up from the bottom is my favorite today... so that is why i don't like overhead lights.....
ReplyDeleteMy Dad would walk down the hallway and yell "everybody up!" I hated it SO much. So, I would make sure I was up before he made his morning rounds. To this day, I never use an alarm clock. I just tell myself before I go to sleep what time I need to be up by and I just wake up.
ReplyDeleteLove George sticking his tongue out ... that is just too funny, as is today's blog!! I agree ... we all end up becoming our Mom in one way or another!! Hugs from CO ... Marcia in CO
ReplyDeleteYup. I think we all become our mothers. Love George's expressions!
ReplyDeleteMy mother did that too, then if that didn't work, she would tell our dog to wake me up. Now I wake my dog up. Love George's experessions.
ReplyDeleteOoh love the color of the clouds and the sky...
ReplyDelete(His tongue is out cause he doesn't want to wear that damn muzzle)
I can hear her now....
He's so ADORABLE!!! All of the pictures are wonderful, but I especially love the shiny, bright eyes in the last one. Watch out world. He's awake and rested! You make a great mom and I think your mom did a great job too.
ReplyDeletehilarious! love this..... sweet George
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a teen, mum used to send in the dog to wake me up because she knew I wouldn't be crabby to her like I would to mum. :) We're all, including George, better off than my mum was as a teen. If she wasn't out of bed in time, my grandpa, who was very strong, would go in and give her the 'Norwegian tipover,' which meant mattress, mum and bedding all picked up and dumped upside down on the bed!
ReplyDeleteIt happens to the best of us. (Becoming our mothers) Gorgeous George looks like I did this morning, having to get up early (on my day off!) for a commitment I had made to a friend. I am *so* sleeping in tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteAs always, thanks for the great photos & stories.
LOL, I vowed I would become my mom. Guess what? It happened!!
ReplyDeleteMy mother used to wake me up by suddenly banging super hard on my door!!
ReplyDeleteYou don't know how many times I thought I would die from a heart attack because of that. It is NOT a pleasant way to wake someone up!
