How did it get to be August already?
It's been a quiet, laid-back summer...
...which is probably why everybody got all riled up...
...when something different appeared in the pasture.
It was enough to get everybody's nostrils flaring.
They can smell a good thing from a mile away.
Some treasured friends stopped by to visit before the rains came...
2.5" in the past week. I was able to get out on Friday for supplies,
so it can keep on raining all it wants...until I run out of dog food, coffee, or wine.

glad you got that rain even if it does make a mess, if it did not rain we would not get to see JC drinking from the rain gauge.
ReplyDeleteThat picture of Lucy is hilarious! One happy donkey! I get all warm & fuzzy when my dogs look like that.
ReplyDeleteYour photography is beautiful, the first picture is amazing.
ReplyDeleteLaurie
Friends means more ear scratching for the gang. ;)
ReplyDeleterunning for love and attention, so right and so cute
ReplyDeleteWe keep getting rain here so I will keep sending it your way.
ReplyDeleteI love that first picture too. I'm sure the rain makes your herd feel better, whatever it does to your roads. I'm sure Junior is happy about it too, where ever he is.
ReplyDeleteSounds like the same list of necessities that keep this place running smoothly. Running out of coffee or dog/cat food is cause for alarm, and substitute beer for wine (winery next door, so it doesn't take a trip very far to refill the wine cupboard.)
ReplyDeleteif you added cat litter, we would have the same grocery list!
ReplyDelete:)
I really like the new header with The Girls represented by She of the FireEngine Red Comb, and Johnny with his Morphing Donkey Ears...perfect!
ReplyDeleteI love your leftovers! Keep 'em coming!
