We saw yesterday how anxious Edith is to be the first hen out of the coop in the morning.
The early bird gets the entrails left over from JohnnyCashCat's overnight hunting trips.
With five hens in the yard, the competition for fresh food can be fierce.
Edith: Eating mouse guts is more fun when we fight over them.
Minnie and Peach get stuck with the leftovers since they're too heavy
to fly over the fence and have to wait for me to let them into the yard.
Minnie: There's nothing worse than stale entrails.
Peach: Oh, yes, there is – stale entrails left next to a pile of pig poop.
Well, if she hadn't FLIPPED it there, it wouldn't BE next to them.

ReplyDeleteI am so glad I finished my breakfast frittata before I saw these pictures. That more or less looks like rat guts or rabbit guts. Happy feasting! Chickens are alot of fun to watch.
ReplyDeleteMade the mistake of enjoying this one with my salad. Still fun, though.

ReplyDeleteIt takes real talent to make one smile and laugh out loud over mouse guts.
ReplyDeleteThat must have been one enormous mouse! I've been getting a kick out of watching our chicks play chase with worms I've been giving them. Too funny!
