This blog shall live to see another day! Thank you everyone for coming through yesterday
with enough topics for me to write about until something exciting happens around here.
Meanwhile, here's an encore post from last March, prior to Johnny's arrival when vermin ruled the ranch.

It was a dark and stormy night. Not really. But it was dark, and "stormy" adds the right amount of drama to our story.

Anyway, I was in the house and Smooch was on the back porch. I kept hearing the sounds of furniture being rearranged.
I tried to ignore them, but my curiosity got the better of me. I grabbed the camera and went outside.
It was a chaotic scene...until I figured out how to use the flash.
Me: Smooch, why is the table askew and the cushions on the ground?
Smooch: Trespasser. Must find.
Smooch: He's back here somewhere, I can smell him.
Me: Maybe it's the Easter Bunny?
Smooch: Nope. The Easter Bunny wouldn't fit back here. I'm guessing a packrat.
Me: Stand back. I'm going to move the bench away from the wall.
Me: Eeewwwww. Definitely not the Easter Bunny.
Has Johnny CC been keeping the rodent population in check?
ReplyDeleteHe absolutely has. This time last year I was finding nests of baby mice everywhere - this year, nothing! Yet.
DeleteDid Smooch get the rat or did you have to call in Johnny for back up?
ReplyDeleteLaurie
The rat ran off into the darkness, never to be found.
Deletegood girl, smooch
