Ya reckon they will eventually be good to each other? I sure hope so. It would be wonderful to see them peacefully coexist. I had some real fears with our new rescue dog Jameson. I didn't know how he would be with our two kitten cats. He still loves to give them the "bums rush" but is so much better than I had hoped. And they on the other hand still plot against his good efforts. But they play now. Hope Smooch and JCC find it in them to come to the peace table and work out their differences. Happy Spring, Oma Linda
And he comes closer...and closer...and CLOSER! My daughter brought a Basset home from college long ago and, at first, he and my cat had a lot of spats. Eventually, one day I found them sleeping on the same bed! Johnny Cash Cat and Smooch will work things out. I can see the headlines now, "Rescued Barn Cat and Notoriously Territorial House Dog become Ranch Buddies."
There's still hope, it just takes time and patience. My cat always hated my dog. Now that the dog is 14, and the cat is almost 18, they get along fine. Most days.
Love how JCC started out as your barn cat - to which you were not going to get attached - and who would not be coming into the house - that now has your heart firmly grasped in his beautiful orange tabby paws! ;)
From the looks of that tail he's still a tad worried about Smooch. But hopefully a peaceful coexistence is at hand. I love his sweet face. Happy first day of Spring. It sprung here in Houston at 11:57am.
One day they will get along. Cats just make you like them.

That's so cute. Makes my morning start a lot better than reading a newspaper :)

The top picture made me laugh, oh, those kitty ears!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you rescued him. Love seeing how happy he is with you. Minus the dog, of course. lol

ReplyDeleteI think as long as Smooch doesn't make it her mission to kill JCC, then you're doing pretty darn good. :)
ReplyDeleteit will get better
