Last week, I posted a few pictures to show you the distance Johnny keeps between himself and his not-BFF Wynonna.
This is the sequel.
Johnny's rule book states that there shall be a minimum of 3 feet of distance
between himself and a chicken at any point in time.
I'm not aware of any hen pecking that might have caused this rule to be enacted,
but Johnny seems determined not to waste any of his lives in a chicken fight.
His shadow might cross his line in the sand, but he does not.
The chickens play fair and stay on their side.
I think of it as the 7MSN demilitarized zone.
No sense going to war when each side knows when to go their separate way.
Now if I could just get Smooch to sign the same treaty!
JCC is either a diplomat or a chicken ;p
ReplyDeleteand also the world could use this treaty.... love the chicken on the wire fence
ReplyDeleteIt is just a cat vs. dog mentality. Smooch is of the "not while I'm breathing" camp. Johnny conserves his energy.
ReplyDeleteJohnny is very smart. Everyone should know where to draw a line they won't cross.
ReplyDeletePretty interesting. I do believe the "line in the sand" came about after a "re-education" effort by the chickens!
ReplyDeleteI enjoy your pictures every morning. Today's story is sweet with both cats and chickens - two favorites.

Maybe Johnny had a run-in with chickens in his former life. My cat makes a run for it when he wants to get between chickens and home. He blasts right through in hopes that no one will peck him.
ReplyDeletereminds me of the 'Neutral Zone' in Star Trek :)
ReplyDeletewhat are those bones on the fence?
TeresaA, here are links to the bone story:

thanks! what a cool idea. And it keeps trespassers away...
DeleteSmart Kitty.
ReplyDeletewhat a wise boy who always walks towards you. He likes to stand watch on the kitchen coop though
ReplyDeleteMore proof that, no matter what variety of species you throw together, if they have space enough, they'll get along fine.
ReplyDeleteThis made me smile :-) love how all your critters have their own mind
