Alan's is a sad tail – short, tattered, uneven.
Some would call it stubby. I don't think anyone is chewing on it. It's just naturally flawed.
George's tail is long and lush by burro standards,
and I love how his dorsal stripe extends all the way to the end.
Lucy's tail is fairly typical for a donkey, covered with short, coarse body hair except for a tuft at the end.
Donkey tails are worlds apart from horse tails. Hank's tail sweeps the ground and is thick and luxurious.
Maybe he'd be willing to sacrifice a few strands so I could make some extensions for Alan,
sort of a locks-for-love program for equines.
Pig tails are in a class by themselves.
Sometimes Johnny's tail is in a different zip code than the rest of his body.
I've never seen such a long tail on a cat.
Smooch's tail wags so much, she can sweep the porch one section at a time.
So while Alan's tail may be nothing to write home about, he more than makes up for it with his
adorable ear tufts and eyebrows. And don't get me started on those flaring nostrils.
You forgot the Alfalfa Sprout between the ears!!! The eye rings do me in, too.
ReplyDeletesitting here sippin tea trying to wake up.....those tails made me lol!! perfect way to start the day! hope yours is a great one! :)
ReplyDeleteHair extensions are required here. Take a few from Hank and weave them in.
ReplyDeleteA weekend fun task, I'm sure. He'll get his best friend to bite them off. Ha!

Loved seeing the various tail tales. I've never noticed that part of your handsome herd of critters before this!
ReplyDeleteSmooch's porch sweeping pic is one of my favorites!
HELP I am giggling and i can't stop... that pig tail has me rolling on the floor, that is one cute butt shot... loved the tale of tail comparison
ReplyDeleteBefore visiting here I never gave expressive noses a 2nd thought eh!
ReplyDeleteOh, the tails they can tell!
ReplyDeleteYou had me laughing out loud this morning !! Who else but Linda Carson would even THINK of these things ? Love it,,,keep up the good work girl ...Jeanne from SC
ReplyDeleteI had no idea the dorsal stripe continued in the tail!
ReplyDeleteIn the photo where you talk about George's dorsal stripe, I had a good laugh at the grouchy face on photo-bombing Lucy. Don't you dare give George any attention! It looks like she's headed over to straighten you out!
ReplyDeleteAnd Smooch's little broom tail is adorable. What a great shot! Now we need the movie!
Lucy was most definitely headed over to break us up. If anyone ever tells you animals do not get jealous, they're just plain wrong.
DeleteAlan's tail is the one flaw that makes an otherwise perfect character that much more loveable.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful tutorial on the tails of 7MSN. Like the others, I noticed the animals tails but never really took a good look before today. This had the whole breakfast table in laughs. Have a super weekend, Casa de Cuckoo
ReplyDeleteI love his unibrow!
ReplyDeleteI love their tails as much as their smoochable faces! And what Alan lacks in the tail department he more than makes up for with that unibrow - it always reminds me of the Beatles' haircuts of my youth. :)
ReplyDeleteMy daughter's pug survived a very serious illness. When she was out of danger but still very weak, not enough energy to curl her tail. So sad. Love the focus on 7MSN tails today. Alan more than makes up for his afterthought tail with cuteness. And JCC has a prizewinner. And Hank is , well, Hank.
ReplyDeletePoor Alan, even Wynonna has a better tail. But he's still my favorite! -- Min
ReplyDeleteThat was a sweet post...had to laugh at Wynonna's cute little bottom. Have a wonderful weekend, Carson. And I hope when people listen to the California weather news, they do not think that everyone is falling off cliffs in mud slides....prior to any rain, everyone thought if someone farted, we would all catch on fire out here!
ReplyDeleteAnd here I was worrying you'd all wash away and I'd end up with an ocean view. Stay dry and be safe regardless!
DeleteThis made me smile.... A lot :-) I hope everyone got some good butt scratches after they showed off their tails!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun thing to see and read on a very snowy Sunday. That Smooch photo is so darn funny. And...those rear end portraits were as much fun to look at as the usual front end portraits. :-)
