Of all the places George could take a nap, he chose to sleep next to Fish.
Some things just can't be explained.
Me: Anybody home?
Me: I'll take that ear as a yes.
George's moment of consciousness was brief.
My announcement that it was lunchtime got another rise out of him.
His lips parted ever so slightly.
I could tell he was about to say something.
George: How would you like it if I snuck in your room
and took pictures of you sleeping with your mouth open?
and took pictures of you sleeping with your mouth open?
Come on George, there's no drooling!
ReplyDeleteHe must trust immensly...
It must be the photographer in you, but my kids wanted to army crawl up to him and snuggle with mim!
ReplyDeleteHow to do you feed the new fish. I guess a little fish food wouldn't hurt the four legged creatures.
ReplyDeleteBut if they drank all the fish food then what?
Just thought I'd ask. You can tell my major passion in life is food.
BA SP
The fish store lady says the algae and bugs will sustain him and that I'm not supposed to feed him. We'll see how long that lasts...
DeleteI have never fed my fishies (now lonely one fishy). The store lady is correct. Just don't clean your tank as often. I give mine a good cleaning once a year. The rest of the time, there is plenty for them to eat.
DeleteThe only supplemental food my Mr. Goldy has ever gotten from me is a once-in-a-blue-moon gnat or small worm that might wind up on my glove that I toss into the tank. Beyond this, he has sustained himself exclusively with algae and bugs that find their way naturally into the water. :-)
DeleteOh, how I wish someone had been there to take a picture of YOU taking these pictures! You had to have been lying in your belly in the "barnyard" and it must have been a sight!
ReplyDeleteOhhh, so tired. My horse used to sleep so sound she snored, Loud.
ReplyDeleteLove the upclose sleeping muzzie shots. :)
ReplyDelete(Is Mr. Fishy lonesome in that big tank by himself?)
I hope not - the tank isn't big enough to support two.
Deletesnoozing in the sunshine eh :) one of life's pleasures.
ReplyDeletePlease tell me you snuck a kiss from those sweet lips? :)
ReplyDeleteBut of course!
DeleteOle George ScratchMyButt Carson has such a sweet face!
ReplyDeleteexactly what i was thinking... LOL love that beautiful face
ReplyDeleteI wanna snuggle! So sweet

ReplyDeleteHe wasn't sleeping. He was GUARDING the new guy. Everyone knows that a good guard guards with their eyes closed. Usually with their feet on the desk and hat over theirs eyes....but guarding non the less. ;)
So I guess the stock water thing uses well water or something that isn't chlorinated. Carp don't like chlorine. As long as you can accept natural growth in that vessel, the fish will do fine. Going to have to refrain from cleaning the gunk that is his food.
ReplyDeleteGeorge is a happy boy.
everyone has pointed out the sweet obvious....that donk has such a sweet, sweet face. Smooches George.
ReplyDeleteHim lying there soaking up the sun, I can almost feel it. It's 8 degrees and howling wind again. I am glad there is sun and warmth somewhere, but I can hardly bear to look.
ReplyDeleteI come and snuggle with you George in this nice sun, oh delicious!
ReplyDeleteSuch a wonderful day for a snoooooooooooooooooozeee! My Darby lay down with her head on my legs this morning. I just put my head back and enjoyed the sun with the new bale of hay behind me. A nice 'passerby' stopped to make sure that a) Darby was okay, and b) I was okay. Gotta love someone who would stop because they think your donkey is in trouble - and you along with her. I assured him we were fine - and just couldn't resist the sunshine (and the chance to snuggle with my HUGE little one and a half year old!).
ReplyDeleteI had a flashback to Forrest Gump, to the point where Forrest has been running from ocean to ocean and he slows to a stop and turns around to look at his flock of followers. At the second to last pic of George you say "I could tell he was about to say something", which is just what the young man said to the other followers, "Shhhh, He's going to say something!!". All Forrest says is that he's tired, but George gets an attitude with you because you woke him up! I further see a resemblance in Forrest's huge, mottled beard to the "bed head" of George!!
ReplyDeleteThanks! Big grin here. Tell George he looks so sweet when he's asleep. heh heh
ReplyDeleteI recognice on that myself very early in the morning, when the kids ask me something :)
ReplyDeleteI never thought a sleeping donkey could look so cute!
ReplyDeleteGeorge, I just love you.
ReplyDeleteYou might put a few rocks in the tank to form a fishy cave, it would give him a place to hide from critters that might want to eat him.
ReplyDeleteHow is Fish doing? Is he/she still around?
