It was 75 degrees here yesterday, capping off several days of unseasonably warm temperatures.
With so many of you shoveling snow, I can't help but feel guilty.
With so many of you shoveling snow, I can't help but feel guilty.
Even Hank has been impressed.
I hope somebody besides me sees what I see in this picture.
Ethel, I know you do.
The little cholla men are holding hands watching the sunset, right?
stunning view outside your window.... yes, i see those little men holding hands but did not until you mentioned it...
ReplyDeletesince you pointed it out, yes I see them also eh!
ReplyDeleteIs there a donkey in that there tree? Beautiful pics, Carson. Wish I was there. Send up some heat.

Having walked down my hill last night in snow shoes to put my sheep to bed, I appreciate that there WILL be a day here that looks like this (except for the little cholla men) and I have hope.
ReplyDeleteI saw the little men right away! That makes me feel proud, when it really should probably make me feel worried!
ReplyDeletePlease don't feel guilty -- they say what goes around, comes around, and I'm pretty sure you had more than your share of Ol' Man Winter *last* year! Your photos are frame-worthy and I'm sure bring some welcome relief to cabin fever and snow-shoveling. Love the dancing chollas .. I'd be dancing, too, if I had sunsets like yours!

YAY...I saw them holding hands before I read your comment. Love your sunsets. Our snow is about gone. Frankly, I'm not ready for 75 degrees.

Maggy said what I was going to say----you've had your weather woes, we all have.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful skies and I saw the chollas holding hands, too!
Don't feel guilty enjoy your gorgeous sunsets and great weather!
ReplyDeleteyes saw the cholla men, they have donkey heads! beautiful sunsets indeed. I am not envious because I could not work with so much beauty around me. here in France we are under water, interesting to see that the members of this blog community are either in the sun, or in the snow or in the water
ReplyDeleteHa Ha! I saw the men holding hands before I read the caption - only I thought of them as a whole crowd of guys coming towards the camera instead of facing the sunset. Your sunsets are lovely!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pics but I think that little guy in the middle is dancing! I know I would be if our temps were in the 70's. Don't feel guilty, just enjoy it and appreciate it, which I know you do.
ReplyDeleteDoes it count that I saw little cholla horsies dancing, before I saw your little guys? (Or possibly, little men with plastic horse heads?)
ReplyDeleteKachina dolls with tall headdresses is what the cholla looked like to me. Very cool!! We have been enjoying the warmer temps and the snow is gone in most areas.
ReplyDeleteA whole cholla family - adults, kids, and even a dog and a horse! Love it!
ReplyDeleteI saw the cholla guys but I thought they were dancing.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI saw it right away! Well...it's nice that somebody is enjoying this winter. Great to have the vicarious sunset! I have taken out a restraining order on Winter. Next, I am hiring a hit man!
ReplyDelete75?!! That's higher than I thought. I still have the Mountainair weather icon next to my Banks icon on my laptop and exclaimed in surprise when I saw it was 69 at your place and 49 at mine! I was immediately transported to a place where I was standing beneath the incredibly blue, cloudless 7MSN sky. I inhaled deeply, savoring the moment, and then reluctantly returned to my moist and muddy 49 degree day. :-)
ReplyDeleteYesterday's weather was more Belen-like than Mountainair-like...depends which way the wind is blowing, I guess.
DeleteNever need to feel guilty about beauty. Never.
ReplyDeleteWe had to turn on the air conditioner in the car yesterday! I do not feel guilty for good weather in the winter here - we pay heavily for it in the long summer months! Can't help but wonder how hot it will be this summer if we have to use the a/c in February!

Never feel guilty about living where you do. It's wonderful and you chose to live there like everyone else has chosen to live where they do. It's truly beautiful and the photos are stunning. Enjoy every minute of it! I think it's admirable that you have made such a nice life for you and your animals. It took guts and courage to do what you did.
ReplyDeleteIt snowed here again last night.
ReplyDeletesigh.
well, at least you feel guilty.
;)
beautiful photos.
They remind me of ancient petroglyphs we see on cave walls!.....
ReplyDeleteby the way, the picture of Hank is very nice, he looks so gentle and peaceful
ReplyDeleteWell, I would give you a hard time for rubbing it in but given the year you had last year.... you deserve one full of days like these. And thanks for sharing them with us.
ReplyDeleteGreat pics ! Here in San Antonio the temp has been in the 70"s. I love it when I can open some windows and get some fresh air flowing. However, Friday was a different story. It was 94 freaking degrees ! Also I want to say that I love coming to your blog and seeing what all your "babies" are up to.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your beautiful weather. I could handle 75 in February without any guilt at all! We lived in San Antonio for 9 years and I have vivid memories of it being 102 degrees on Feb. 24th one year. Some people are jealous of warm temperatures this time of year, but come summer, it'll be the other way around. Your hated cholla looks gorgeous with the lighting and awesome clouds behind them. My first thought of people there was of acrobats standing on one another building an inverted pyramid. Then they looked like kachina dolls. The longer I looked, the more I saw - kind of like looking at the clouds.
ReplyDeleteWell, I thought they were rabbit or donkey stick figures, but cholla men work :)
ReplyDeleteI look out of my window and i see snow, snow and snow. And then i look again your fotos :) so beatiful...
