Me: Johnny, come on out. The nice people out there haven't seen you for a couple of weeks.
As I waited for Johnny to get his butt out of bed, I noticed something about him that I'd never noticed before.
(Roll your mouse between the margin and the photo to see what I mean.)
Johnny: You've got burros on the brain.
He finally left the comfort of his nest, realized his food bowl was empty...
...then went right back to bed.
Johnny: Wake me up again when it's spring.
Johnny ia a beauty! Always nice to see him.
ReplyDelete(The M on the forehad is also called Tabby mark.)
We're in South Mississippi slipping and sliding around on all of this ice mess...I feel EXACTLY the way Johnny does!!!
ReplyDeletethat is just about the coolest warm bet ever... lovethe tail shot
ReplyDeleteno treat, no trick! clever Johnny! always nice to see you gorgeous boy
ReplyDeleteDear JCC, I am in complete agreement with you eh!! um love you M markings ;)
ReplyDeleteCats just love cozy and warm places to curl up in. He has the best I've ever seen.
ReplyDeleteBA SP
Smart boy! His M looks like the Morning Bray Farm M.
ReplyDeleteHa! Must be too early for me because I didn't see that comment coming.
ReplyDeleteAww, he looks so sleepy! Guess he was marked for life with the long-ears, eh?
ReplyDeleteI think all tiger kitties have the "M" on their forehead.
ReplyDeleteWell, all that i have seen at least. Interesting isn't it.
He's such a handsome kitty.
Cute, cute post. Especially loved the tail hanging out.
ReplyDeleteThere's a sweet Christmas legend I like about the tabby M.
ReplyDeleteIn the stable in Bethlehem, the baby Jesus was fussy and wouldn't be comforted. Mary was at her wits' end when a large tabby cat jumped into the manger. As the tabby purred, the baby quieted and slept. Ever since, tabby cats have worn the letter M as a mark of honor for the service they gave to Mary.

The distinct "M" is a tabby mark: http://www.catster.com/cats-101/tabby-cat but if you want to make Johnny a distant relative of the burro, who am I to say?
ReplyDeleteThis is Johnny's personal performance of Ground Hog Day! At your verbal invitation (what person in their right mind would REACH IN and take a cat out of a cocoon?!! Ground hogs don't use their fangs and claws!) he steps out of his warm, cozy bed, looks for FOOD, finds none, could care less about his SHADOW, and stalks back into bed. Don't you just want to tuck that tail back in with him? No-no, don't touch!
ReplyDeletePrediction: Spring'll get here when it gets here.
Ha!! :)
Here at my house, Stella the dog wakes me at 7:30 precisely every morning for her breakfast. I get up, stumble around and make it for her, she wolfs it down and goes back to be immediately. Where have I gone wrong here?
ReplyDeleteJo, Stella and Zkhat
I wish I could go back to bed too, Johnny.
ReplyDeleteBurros on the brain... and come summer, Johnny just might have burros in his heart as well.
ReplyDeleteI'm with Johnny, wake me up when it's Spring too! Love his bed.
ReplyDeleteHe's gorgeous! Love his bed and the appendage hanging out. My Emma tries to wake me up, but it's my own fault. She has a self-feeder, but she also loves her treats. I usually give her a few when I get up, so she pats me on the mouth or jumps on me to tell me it's time...
ReplyDeleteI love your cat !!!
ReplyDeleteHe's got looks And smarts. Good kitty.
ReplyDeleteAwwwwwww! He was meant to be there!
ReplyDeleteI ldont know why but I love orange cats! They are my favorite. The rest aren't too bad either!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Deb in Viola
When I was a child a cat rescue lady told me that M on the forehead stands for Mouser and that means any cat with the M is a good hunter. :)
ReplyDeleteOMG! He is just so darn CUTE!
