I tried to have a little Halloween fun with the herd before I fed them lunch yesterday.
Their reactions were not what I expected.
Lucy: I'll be really pissed if he gets through that door. I've been trying for a year and a half
and still haven't figured it out.
Hank: You can't possibly think this would scare me.
Alan: I don't know what that thing is but I'm going to pretend not to see it.
Alan: You can move it wherever you want – I'm still not going to play with it. So there.
Smooch was ready to pounce on it the second it moved and was very disappointed that it stood still.
Wynonna opened her eyes and give it a glance but went right back to her nap.
Most surprising of all was the reaction I got from the girls:
They'll gobble up real tarantulas in a nanosecond, but when confronted with a plastic tarantula?
They're a bunch of chickens.
I so agree with the girls. ;p
ReplyDeleteIt surprised me that the hens were cringing in the corner. They know what's good for them after all.
ReplyDeleteBest always,
I think, when it comes to food, that critters dont have much of a sense of humor! as for the chicken, it seems that it is a question of size, maybe what their eyes is able to frame.
ReplyDeleteThose girls are smart! As for eating one, ew, and how do they do that without getting hurt?
ReplyDeletethis is just to funny. i have seen those chickens tear into a real live scary very scary spider and pull it limb from limb.. love it.
ReplyDeleteLove the pic of the cringing chickens!

Well..to their credit, that is one ginormous spider! They probably thought it was coming to get its revenge on all it's relatives they'd eaten.
