I woke up a little later than usual yesterday morning, to see a big orange blob out my window.
I put my glasses on and realized it was Johnny and not a leftover pumpkin.
Johnny: It's about time you got up. We're going to be late for work.
By the time I got dressed and made it outside, Johnny and Wynonna were pacing at the front porch gate,
demanding their breakfasts. To find Wynonna waiting at the gate is nothing new.
Johnny joined her on a regular basis about a week ago. It's nice to not have to go looking for him,
but now if he's never not there with her, I'll be a nervous wreck until I find him.
Anyway, everybody got fed, then I got my coffee and settled into the office for a day's work,
whereupon Johnny showed up at the door. He's got my schedule – and Smooch's schedule – down pat.
He's figured out that when Smooch is in the backyard, it's safe to stand at the office door and beg to come inside.
And of course I let him.
Me: No, you cannot sit on my lap, you feral beast. I'm busy.
Johnny: It would be easier to pace back and forth across this wall and make you crazy
if this post weren't in the way.
Me: The sooner you get off my keyboard, the sooner I can finish my work and feed you.
Johnny: I've been on my best behavior for at least an hour.
Johnny: Surely it must be quitting time.
He is such a beauty. I'm glad he is such a wonderful addition to your animal kingdom.

Yourspecialdog
Gee Johnny, make yourself at home eh ;)
ReplyDeleteJohnny hanging with Wynonna isn't a bad idea. No one is gonna mess with her or i bet you'd hear about it. Fingers crossed that Johnny and Smooch will both be in for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful green eyes that furry boy has! (All the better to stare you down with!) ;)
ReplyDeletethis is normal cat behaviour (walking on the keyboard). this Johnny boy really speaks intensely with his beautiful green eyes, and that is not the case with all cats, he is into communication with you
ReplyDeleteThose are some mighty long salt and pepper whiskers!
ReplyDeletethis boy has an excellent strategic thinking system
ReplyDelete"Feral beast"---yeah...right!
ReplyDeleteThat cat's got your number.
ReplyDeleteBEAUTIFUL pictures! Doing the happy dance because Johnny is inside with you!
ReplyDeleteCats are great pets. I just love their curosity and intensity. Happy hump day!
ReplyDeletethe title to this post should be Feral No More, by J Cash... he is so beautiful. i showed all his photos to my friend at the nursing home yesterday, we went through your blog looking at all your critters. Rich said that is the biggest cat ever... and then his aid came in and said the same thing. you had many happy viewers yesterday..
ReplyDeleteHe is such a handsome boy! My cat "helps" with the keyboard on my computer, too.
ReplyDeleteHe IS a big cat! Both of my boys are big but he looks especially long. He's a handsome big guy.
ReplyDeleteHe is such a beautiful cat and I'm really enjoying his tale of being such a feral cat who likes the creature comforts of a warm house.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweetheart. Becky
ReplyDeleteIn addition to being so very cute, he is huge!
ReplyDeleteIt took about ten years before my cat finally got the message that she was NOT welcome to walk across my keyboard when I was working. Johnny appears to be a quick learner, giving you an hour of catless keyboard time. :)
ReplyDeleteLove Johnny Cat! Such a beautiful boy!
ReplyDeleteThe cockeyed ear trick-when our cat does this it means mischief will soon happen. Johnny looks so healthy and handsome!
ReplyDeleteHe is the cutest orange boy ever. Don't tell mine that I said that. lol
ReplyDeleteWell, hasn't Mr. J. Cash just gone and stolen everyone's heart !
ReplyDeleteHe looks so UNferal.
ReplyDeleteHe looks positively kittenish in that keyboard shot, with his ears all forward and his tail high. Such a cute cat.
ReplyDeleteMy gosh he's a gorgeous cat. I love those photos. I just lost my Pepper last night; so especially appreciated seeing some happy cat photos
ReplyDeleteJohnny is so beautiful. Reminds me of the cat I had growing up.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to see a cat back at the MSN. Long may he reign!
ReplyDeleteJohnny knew all along he was a barn cat. Just took a little time to convince his mama. :-)
ReplyDeleteOh, he is SO adorable! He'll like this routine once it gets cold, too, although I suspect he'll be spending MORE time inside! :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm loving this fella's personality. He's pretty gorgeous, too.
ReplyDeleteI admire the iron discipline it must take to actually get work done among all those loveable four-legged distractions!
