Six years ago yesterday, Smooch and I drove to Colorado to adopt George and Alan and bring them home.
In honor of the occasion, I gathered the family around me to re-tell the tale of that fateful day
and how my life changed immeasurably upon the arrival of two wild little burros.
Clearly they've heard the story one too many times....
...although George and Alan did get a little emotional when I got to the part where I opened the trailer doors
and they saw the wide open spaces before them.
Alan even broke into song.
i would love to hear their song if you can capture it on video for us.. these photos touched my heart and I am happy you rescued them
ReplyDeleteI can hear Alan sing... and all the other critters join in. They sing a song of joy.
ReplyDeleteWhat a stroke of luck that they found such a wonderful place to live. You too, have been blessed by these little guys. It works both ways. Everybody wins.
ReplyDeleteBest always,
I can't believe it's been six years already. They are a very happy bunch. Love the last picture as he breaks into song!
ReplyDeleteDid Lucy come first? I love the way you relate to your donks, they are so trusting of you.

Kris, I've been with you a long time, but I hadn't yet found you 6 years ago. I'd love it if you could repost some pictures from the boys' first days with you! Love those funny faces!
