I'm trying hard not to get used to this

The most amazing things have been going on with Ranchsitter #5 at the helm. I'll be working
in my office when I hear interesting noises coming from one corner of the house or another.
I get up to investigate and see things like this...

See Joey cleaning out and organizing my spice cabinet.
Yes, the jars are now alphabetized.

See Joey dusting all the up-high things that I never even notice. If all the cabinets look shinier,
blame Joey and her bottle of Murphy's oil soap. That glow above Joey's head is the light shining down
from the light tube, but it might as well be a halo. She's an angel disguised as a ranchsitter.

Her cleaning obsession extends to the outdoors as well!

Yesterday Joey took a break from her self-imposed chores to haul me to a doctor's appointment.
On the way home we ran into this nice man roasting green chile on the side of the road.

I'd been debating all month whether I should bother to put up a sack of green chile this year,
not certain how my new g.i. tract would react to my favorite vegetable (or is it a fruit?).
I decided it would be better to have it and not need it than need it and not have it, so we brought a sack home.

No surprise who did all the work to get it to the freezer.

A shelf full of green chile in the freezer...it's good for what ails me.

Even after an exhausting day, Joey wasn't too tired to lay down on the floor and play with Smooch.

  13. Tell Joey that Redford and Rafer Johnson have little donkey hugs ready if she wants to take a trip to November Hill and spread some of that obsession around. Or even just hang out and relax. :)

Hoping you are getting better every day!! I wish I were lined up to be one of your ranchsitters - I would love to meet George and Alan and Lucy and the whole gang. Take good care!!

  16. If this is the "crazy" which Joey announced she would bring down from Alaska, then this is the nicest, sweetest kind of crazy I can imagine.
Perhaps September 2013 will be remembered as the Wonderful Era Of Halo-Worthy Ranch Sitters.

Oh boy, Joey set a high standard for the next ranchsitter. All the little chores like cleaning cabinets will be done and won't be worried about you, Linda being on a ladder for awhile. Thank you Joey for your hard work.

  21. I need a nap after seeing the pictures of Joey at work. Now I'm tired! I've never tried green chiles, but I do love chopped jalapenos in lots of things, including omelets. Keep getting better!
