It was early Sunday evening. Smooch and I didn't have much going on,
so we headed out to check fence and watch cows...
...and the occasional bull.
Smooch appointed herself cattle guard while I wandered off to take pictures.
Smooch: I'm perfectly capable of guarding the cattle myself and don't need any help from Lucy.
Smooch: Seriously? How can I do my job when she keeps blocking the view?
Alan: They'd better not hop the fence and eat our grass.
Smooch: George, you're not making this any easier.
Smooch: How am I supposed to do my job with all these distractions?
Smooch: I give up. Take me home.
Beautiful blue skies ... what a great afternoon for checking fence.
ReplyDeleteHas Lucy graduated from the grazing muzzle? Donkeys and dogs seem well behaved as long as the Ranger is in the picture.

love this love this
ReplyDeleteI love when Lucy and the boys see the Ranger and come and visit for hugs! Aww, Smooch, you always do a good job
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing that Smooch doesn't bark at them but then again she as no place to run. It's a chance for the donkeys to smell her all over and she can't move. Interesting how they know it.
ReplyDeleteBest always,
Poor smoochie ;p Sounds and looks like a great way to spend any evening.
ReplyDeleteSmooch has a lot of "anger" all right. LOL (3rd pic from bottom) Those naught boys.
ReplyDeleteWay more help than Smooch needs or wants. Great shots.
ReplyDeletethe blog that puts a smile on my face! the face of Smooch in the last picture made me laugh!
ReplyDeleteI hope she got a cookie for all the hard work she put in. :)
ReplyDeleteSo Smooch is strapped in and the burros are free? Equal rights for Smooch! (Unless she's a flight risk...)
ReplyDeleteNo respect. The little rascals are a curious bunch and they seem to enjoy tormenting poor Smooch who is very serious about her important position as Head of Security.
ReplyDeleteOh Smooch, I know just what it is like when other people (or critters) keep interfering with one's work. Hard to be efficient with furry faces and big ears in the way. I think you should try to negotiate a raise - all that hassle and supervision is worth at least one extra treat per ride.
ReplyDeleteThat 'bull" is actually a calf, just a kid, probably born this spring.
ReplyDeleteFunny how siblings have their little ways of getting to one another. These are great shots of just that. "She's touching me, he's looking at me....etc." Smooch doesn't stand a chance with the herd, bless her.
ReplyDeleteYou always have such great pictures of blue sky! And coming from someone in CO, I'm not on a shortage myself. I have enjoyed your blog for a long time and since I finally got my own started, I can actually comment! Yay!
ReplyDeleteSmooch just doesn't like to be restrained in any way at all!
ReplyDeleteUndo the girl!

Hey Carson,
ReplyDeleteI love your blog! I love your critters! I know their personalities by your pics. They are all amazing Hams that love the limelight and you somehow capture it all! I think you are a pretty awesome critter mom!
