Heather from New Zealand posted this on my facebook wall yesterday, and I'm still laughing. I don't really have an ark, but I've got a friend named Don, and he has a big truck, and come hell or higher water, I'll be back at the ranch Sunday morning.
I got out of the hospital around noon yesterday and stayed overnight at Morning Bray Farm with Justina and Don, waiting for my road to dry up a little before venturing southward. I'm confident we'll make it in on Sunday.
CeeCee (a.k.a. Ranchsitter #3) has held down the fort during this record-breaking weather, and I haven't worried a bit about what's happening at the ranch. Rumor has it Lucy has stolen her heart. While I've known CeeCee since the early days of this blog, we still haven't met in person! We were laughing on the phone the other night about how weird that was, since she's been living in my house and taking care of my animals all week. She's certainly earned her spurs, staying out there all by her lonesome with the rain pouring down endlessly. Tonight, she'll finally have some company. Have I mentioned she's a "Breaking Bad" fan? You can guess what we'll be doing at 7:00. Finally...watching my favorite show, in my house, on my couch, curled up with my dog...there's no place like home.
Please post us a picture of just that. My teary eyes can visualize it. I just want to see the soft light on you both and know that you are finally home.
ReplyDeleteVia con Dias, I read your blog often, and usually don't comment simply because I arrive after 30 or so comments have been left and there is not much that can be added at that point, BUT wow today I see an open spot. Sorry to hear of your illness, I def sent a few words UP for you... and thrilled to know you are going home. I'll be watching Walt White and am curious to see how he gets outta the fix he created in last weeks episode. Welcome home and a big howdy to CC, she is solid Gold!
ReplyDeletehope you are home now.. and this makes me so happy plus the chuckle from Noah Guy
ReplyDeletehip hip hip hooray to Don and his big truck. Hopefully tonight 3 girls will be happy: you, CeeCee and Smooch.
ReplyDeleteHurray! Homeward bound. Lucy would steal anyone's heart and Smooch will stay close to you so you don't disappear again.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you finally get to go home. Hooray.
ReplyDeleteStay healthy!
I bet the crew will be thrilled to see you!
I love the Noah sign - the National Weather service actually said we will have rain of "Biblical proportions" - it cracked us up!
Alright! So glad you are on your way home!

All I can say is halleluia! There no place like home!
ReplyDeleteThanks to all for hollding down the ranch and to you dear Carson for still keeping us posted even from your hospital bed!
Hugs,
Deb from Viola, Ks
That's good news for a Sunday morning that might have rain here but hopefully nothing like New Mexico and Colorado have gotten
ReplyDeleteSuch GREAT news! I know you'll be thrilled to be back home. Hope you and Don have a safe trip and you have a wonderful reunion with everyone, including CeeCee. Please take it easy and, yes, definitely post a picture for the rest of us!

Love the Noah guy! So happy to hear you will be safely home...thanks to Justina and Don...couldn't be a better stopover anywhere. Smooch and the rest of the gang will be thrilled to pieces to have you back. I'm sure they have enjoyed all the extra lovin and company from the greatest ranch sitters on the planet. But there's no one that can take the place of Mom!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you're headed home! The gang will all be there to greet you! You've had an amazing selection of ranchsitters - you so deserve them! I've just read more on the Colorado/New Mexico floods and rain - it's too close to the 2011 Missouri River flooding which reached just 8 or so miles from my little town.
ReplyDeleteHappy Homecoming! I'll be watching Walt with you! And thanks to Don and Justine for looking after you.

Here's to a safe drive home, a great welcome from the animals and Ranchsitter CeeCee, and a restful evening watching your favourite show.
ReplyDeleteSuch good friends!
ReplyDeleteI don't envy you the trip over muddy/rutty roads with an abdominal owie . . . but you can do stuff nobody else can, so it isn't the big deal for you that it would be for me.
I keep thinking what a stroke of luck it was for the hay guy to show up when you weren't there. I can imagine you thinking you could heft a bale or two. Just the light ones.... :-<
I think it is wonderful to have such great friends as Justina and Don. Thank you Don for getting Linda home. The 7MSN gang will be happy to have mom home. Thank you CC for taking care of the ranch. You have also earned a pair of spurs. Now to get Linda 100% healed and well.

You definitely will sleep well tonight, in your own home!!
very thankful that you are outta hospital and on your way to home...where you want to be. Oma Linda
ReplyDeleteso nice of Justina and Don to give you a port in the storm....wink, wink.
Carson, so glad you are on your way home! I can tell how much you miss your ranch and animals. Just take it easy for a while, okay? No more snake wrangling, right?

Awesome! Can't wait to hear you're home safe and sound, on the mend and snuggled up with your dog. And, that Don gets back home safely too!
ReplyDeleteSo glad you escaped from jail and had a donkey fix to tide you over until your kids can slobber on you. The rain is truly epic, Im in Denver and much woe to many here, unprecedented water all over the west. Think the planet is changing, hopefully not too much, or woe for us all. I bet Smooch will be over the moon, just guard that tummy when she jumps all over to lick her mom!
ReplyDeleteI hope this comment greets you at your home where you'll be safe and "sound". Hope you'll still have some help while you recover.
ReplyDeleteWelcome home, Carson. Take it easy and get well soon.
ReplyDeleteBest always,
She's home! And yes, Smooch was over the moon! The herd came up from the green, green pastures for a hug as did Johnny Cash cat. I got a few pictures and hopefully she'll share them tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteWelcome home, Carson!!
I was out of town for a couple of days and wondered if they had let you out yet. Hope you got to your house and Smooch and Cee Cee and you are watching tv together.
