It occurred to me as I was sifting through last June's posts for a Saturday encore that I have not had to rope a single snake so far this year, nor have I had a single snake post in 2013. And according to the Chinese calendar, this is supposed to be the Year of the Snake. I shall blame it on the drought.
Did Mr. Snake ever return last summer? Yesterday while hiking along a small ravine filled with water, I spied a little otter sliding around looking for eggs. Many bird species lay their eggs in the marshes this time of year. I had never seen an otter in the wild. They sure are beautiful and sleek.
ReplyDeleteBest always,
I love it when you make me laugh! Don't we all say sh*t when the snake we're trying to paint moves?
ReplyDeleteI've been wondering about the snakes. I'm sure the swallows are happier. Maybe that's why the packrats moved in... no snakes?
ReplyDeletepoor little birds.are there any protection against snake?
ReplyDeleteBetter luck next time with the paint. Just wondering if you've ever tried a helmet cam for hands free video taping.
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! Hysterical! Just discovered your log and am really enjoying it. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteMaybe the snakes don't like the idea of chickens on the march. Chickens don't seem to fear much on the ground.
