Big day today – the bandage comes off. Smooch's broken dew claw must have hurt like heck
because it slowed her down considerably, and she wasn't herself all week.
Of course she got extra treats, and I spoiled her at every opportunity.
But she wasn't the only one who got a little extra pampering.
Someone got her first pedicure ever yesterday. Must mean someone is going on a beach vacation in a few days.
Smooch: Hey! This post is supposed to be about me. Nobody wants to look at your toes.
I do what Smooch is doing when I want to see how that color would look on me. Is she giving you a hint that she would like a day at the salon?
ReplyDeleteBeach vacation! Hell, y'got nothin' but sand and sun where you are! You have to have ocean too???
I have great respect for white feet. My daughter would jump through flaming hoops for me to have blue painted toenails! Where is the lottery to become a ranch sitter? I volunteer at a farm museum, just so I can shovel manure!
ReplyDeleteI must have been slacking earlier in the week, because I totally missed the story of sweet Smooch and her boo boo. Hole digging, or varmint chasing ... there are a thousand ways for a dew claw to get caught and torn. Ouch! Our greyhounds would get bandaged regularly, usually from injuries sustained while ridding the yard of squirrels. I keep a colorful assortment of vet-wrap on hand ... I buy it in the equine dept at the farm store ... cheaper than human or dog size rolls.
ReplyDeletePerhaps the ranch sitters will bring their nail polish and give Smooch her own beautiful nails!
ReplyDeleteIt could happen...
Have fun wherever you are going!
Woohoo!! Love the blue!
ReplyDeleteAnd I looked down at my poor ragged feet and almost cried!!! I love pedicures, especially at the small salons where they soak and smooth and lather lotion on your feet and legs! It's been all too long since I've done that! Envious! And I thought you were going to paint Smooch's nails...

Willow tore her dewclaw this past winter, presumably on some ice. It didn't seem to bother her much though - oddly enough. My new vet's mantra: "Wounds heal". Glad to hear Smooch is doing well! Nice toes, btw.
ReplyDeleteBlue for the beach? Sounds like you have some fun times coming... including blue crab?!!
ReplyDeleteGlad Smoochalicious is doing better and hey Mexico....lookout here comes Linda Bluetoes.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a fandamtastic time and come back with all kinds of Lucy and Ethel tales of adventure. Vaya con Dios mi amiga, the Cuckoos
oh sweet sweet sweet ! and well done, as I say: a beautiful woman has beautiful toenails and beatiful fingernails!
ReplyDeleteGreat looking nails! And yours don't look too bad either. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm rockin' that same color right now! Have a great vacation!
ReplyDeleteOoh... Love the color! I go today!
ReplyDeleteA smooch for poor little Smoochie....
ReplyDeleteMy goodness, your toes are pretty. Love the blue. Watch out, you beaches, Carson is coming for you.
ReplyDeleteYou did it - Your first pedicure! It looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteNice color choice, btw :-)
