Notice anything new in my office?
Probably not since 99.99% of you have never actually been in my office, but maybe you'll spot it anyway.
I wrote about Kay Vincent's priceless scherenschnitte rendering of my life a few weeks ago,
and the original showed up in my mailbox over the weekend.
Holy stinkin' moly. As magnificent as I knew it would be, it's even more magnificent in person.
I put it in one of those floating frame things. I love how the shadows make it three dimensional.
All my favorite things in life, right there in one place for me to look at.
It's a wonder this post even got written – I still can't take my eyes off it.
Thank you, Kay. Your artistry will be forever treasured.
i love the shadow shot.. i bet it is even more wonderful in real time... she is truly talented.
ReplyDeleteWill she do a demonstration video or hold a class? That is astonishing!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea to place the scherenschnitte in a floating frame. I am totally awed by the talent and patience it must take to do this kind of exquisite artistry.

What a talented artist Kay is and your blog inspired her to create something so special. I'm glad you got the original and love the way you framed it. You must walk by it many times a day and smile. I feel privileged to know the story behind it.
ReplyDeleteIts late in the day but I picked it out right away. So gorgeous and your frame with the shadow effect is just priceless! I used to do a little scherensnitte, but nothing as complex as yours. S'wonderful!
