Today marks the start of week three of sunroom construction.
If the weather cooperates, it might be close to finished by Friday.
The stucco crew will be here today to put on the grey coat, followed by the color coat later in the week, if it's warm enough.
The painters will come tomorrow to stain the concrete floor and the French doors.
Smooch and I can't wait for the film to be gone on all those panes. It's blocking our view.
Meanwhile, the former porch railing is now the garden fence.
Smooch has finally stopped barking at the crew, though she watches their every move.
The walkway has been leveled and made ready for the paving stones.
Should be some kind of fun today watching the guys fit all these pieces together.
I don't know if I'm more excited about the stonework or the pallets that the stones came on.
I plan to turn one of them into one of these. The idea came from the Domestic Doozie's blog,
and she even has a post on how to hang it. I love the internet.
I just LOVE that pallet shelf! I'm going to grab one from the ranch next time I'm up there. It was too rainy this weekend to even drive up there...:-( Can't wait to see the photos of your next walkway and porch!
ReplyDeleteI know you are so excited to move into your new space. It is truly lovely, and I'm sure Smooch feels like you have made this room just for her. Can't wait to see the finished room!
ReplyDeleteIt all looks so good! Love the pallet shelves idea. And I am so jealous of you for getting to peel off all 30, or better still, 60?, of those film pieces on the french doors!
ReplyDeleteI lOVE those new shelves!!
ReplyDeleteGREAT idea!
Your place is taking on a nice shape. I love all the creative ideas Pinterest has regarding pallets. I'm glad you shared Domestic Doozie's blog because I would like to recycle one too. They are lying around all over the place here. I'm looking forward to your new sun porch and beautiful pathway. Nice improvements.

ReplyDeletethat shelve made out the pallet is just cool!!!
ReplyDeleteI like that you used the porch rail for a fence. and seeing the progress of the sunroom is so interesting. What the heck did I do for entertainment before the internet????
So much fun to watch it all coming together. Smooch is such a good girl.
ReplyDeleteLove the pallet shelving!! What a great idea! One of those would look great on your new sun porch. Maybe displaying some of your cool finds out on your walks with Smooch.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, the walkway is gonna be so beautiful with the stone. Love the garden fence all done and Yay for the pallet shelf. Looking good. Oma Linda
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be so nice when it's finished. Didn't know about the walkway.I do hope the weather behaves.
ReplyDeleteLove Smooch, looking out with her crossed paws.
Oh! Linda it's going to be lovely, not that it isn't now....AND LOVE the idea for the pallet. Hugs
ReplyDeleteAfter looking at the pictures again I just had to add what a lovely model Smooch is, she has a birthday coming up doesn't she. Have a good day and hugs to all.
ReplyDeleteMEEEEE again, Happy Birthday Smooch, I thought it was in a day or two, but checked and today is the day. Hope your mom baked you a yummy cake.
ReplyDeleteI love love love that Pallet Shelf. I am going to suggest a trade. You can have free run of my hydrant plans, and I would like to copy the pallet shelf idea. LOL!
ReplyDeleteI work in a Semi-truck parts house, and I get all my hay cubes on pallets. I have pallets coming out my ears! Oh I know right where to put one of those lovely shelves too.
I learn the coolest stuff on your blog!
I also agree with Estelle, Smooch is looking quite elegant.
I wish my kitchen renos had gone half as smoothly and as quickly as your sunroom renos. It looks wonderful, and the rail/garden fence looks great too.
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see what Wynonna thinks of the change to her porch.
The pallet idea is great with a natural stain or even with a southwestern patina. I love the idea of recycling instead of burning. Burning? Take a burning tool and burn the 7MSN brand into one of the vertical boards or burn the BLM brands of George and Alan. How fun with the creation. The sunroom is looking so nice. I love the garden fence.
ReplyDeleteOk I'm going to have to steal that palette idea!! Just beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteSide effect of being a landscaper - I have access to umpteen pallets.
ReplyDeletePlanning to re-purpose some of them into a chicken coop this spring, deer proofing the garden is also in the works. Love the shelf idea! :D
One day closer! Yay! Good for you for getting the crew to install the paving stones, rather than doing it yourself. Looking forward to the finished product.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, Smooch!! Hope you get a very nice treat today.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Smooch. Hope you had a nice day of guarding the ranch because I know even though it is your day you wouldn't leave your post.
ReplyDeleteOoh love the fence! And the pallet will be an awesome addition.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Smooch! ( a little late) I bet she does think that sunroom is her birthday present!
Another use for a pallet: a vertical garden!
