My first visit to Santa occurred in December 1955. I was one. Stop doing
the math.
I had a bad haircut, chubby cheeks, and I was not happy.
During my second visit to Santa, I still had a bad haircut and chubby cheeks, but at least I didn't cry.
If I had my picture taken with Santa today, you would see that some things never change,
although my bangs are a little longer.
What's that with the numbers on Santa's chair?
ReplyDeleteLovely, kissable cheeks though!

These are so adorable. You should make one your Christmas card someday! And inside you could write "Believe".
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday today, little cutie!
I was 5 before i met Santa in 1959 and by the time I met him i was dragging my 2 year old brother up to see him. the photo is in my mother hope chest and my niece the historian has the chest, a 10 hour drive from here... you were so cute
ReplyDeleteI vote for Santa number 2. Was your hair red?
ReplyDeleteHey, at least you HAD hair when you were one. Mine was so fine it was invisible! And you're cute! I like Santa number 2.
ReplyDeleteI agree with C in Wi. It would make a great card.
Wait. That was MY haircut.
ReplyDeleteThe first Santa doesn't look too friendly anyway. It was his fault you were crying, not yours. :)
ReplyDeleteSome things never change. You were well loved then and you are well loved now. Don't knock your looks. You were a darling child, you're a wonderful woman. Thanks for sharing; these are beautiful pictures.
ReplyDeleteBecky
Cute pictures! Your hair wasn't that bad. :) I hope everyone on the 7MSN ranch has a great Christmas! Thanks for all the great photos and posts in 2012! Looking forward to your adventures in 2013!
ReplyDeleteYou are right, some things never change....you were darling then and you are darling now.
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures. I don't think I have any of me when I was a youngster and Sandy Drawers. That's what Shelley called him.
Here's to celebrating Linda Carson, then and now.
Oma Linda
Happy Birthday, Linda and hope you have a lovely day, and may you be blessed this coming year. Hugs JUST for you today.
ReplyDeleteOh, those pictures are adorable! The only picture we have of my now 15 year old son on Santa's lap was when he was 8 months old. (I love that photo!) As he got older, he was painfully shy and wouldn't even begin to think of sitting on some guy's lap! HA! Then he outgrew his shyness and then was too old! Oh well, Merry Christmas to all of you. Your blog is a daily blessing to me! Hugs, Meghan
ReplyDeleteOMG, I had that same haircut, same year!
ReplyDeleteThat must have been the "in" haircut in 1955. Mine was almost identical, although I think you are cuter :)
ReplyDeleteWishing you a Merry Christmas and health and happiness in 2013. Looking forward to more stories and pics in the New Year; coffee and The 7MSN start every morning at our place.
Hugs to you and all the animals at 7MSN.
Your Santa pics are absolutely adorable! Santa looks grumpy so I think I would have cried too! Merry Christmas to you and your 7MSN crew. xo
ReplyDeleteThe number was probably so parents could order prints, referring to the correct photo.
ReplyDeleteCute photos!
Love the cheeks, they remind me of my daughters at that age...I also gave her the short haircuts...Too cute....And the Santa' are very nice....
ReplyDeleteI love both pictures too.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!
If my math serves me well, that was the year for my first visit to Santa too! Love your snow!! It looks perfect on your blog header. xox
ReplyDeleteLove the mid century black and white pictures from film. The math was easy for me cause I'm mid century too. 50's kids are the cutest!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday Hope you spend your day with the herd.
ReplyDeleteThere are no pictures of any of my parents children sitting on Santa's lap. We were deprived. I think that haircut was given to every female child in the 50's and into the early 60's. I also suffered with it.
ReplyDeleteLet's see!
ReplyDeleteDon't cry. Most all of us gals had those terrible our mothers hacked across our foreheads. Tell me, was your mom a terrible cook too? Opening cans and packages to combine and serve as a meal.
ReplyDeleteWas that Halle's?
ReplyDeleteHa! You've been there, Janet. I think it was Halle's - isn't that where Mr. Jingaling was? If not Halle's, then Higbee's.
ReplyDeleteToo funny! The look on Santa's face in the first one is hysterical; he is like "WTF?"
