I tried to have a little Halloween fun with the herd before I fed them lunch yesterday.
Their reactions were not what I expected.
Lucy: I'll be really pissed if he gets through that door. I've been trying for a year and a half
and still haven't figured it out.
Hank: You can't possibly think this would scare me.
Alan: I don't know what that thing is but I'm going to pretend not to see it.
Alan: You can move it wherever you want – I'm still not going to play with it. So there.
Smooch was ready to pounce on it the second it moved and was very disappointed that it stood still.
Wynonna opened her eyes and give it a glance but went right back to her nap.
Most surprising of all was the reaction I got from the girls:
They'll gobble up real tarantulas in a nanosecond, but when confronted with a plastic tarantula?
They're a bunch of chickens.
They know that the red-kneed tarantulas have more venom than the ones they eat. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, too funny about the chickens!
ReplyDeleteJust call me a "chicken" also eh! ;-)
ReplyDeleteHow funny was that....I giggled with the picture of Wyonna. Hugs
ReplyDeleteLOL at those chicken gals up on the bin - that has made my day. They're my sisters in spirit!
ReplyDeleteIn the girls' defense, that is one stinkin' big spider.
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh at the chickens response. Guess even they have limits to how big dinner can get before they leave it alone!
ReplyDeleteI like Wynonnna's reaction the best. If I was sleeping and opened a blurry eye to see that, you'd have to scrape me off the ceiling.
ReplyDeleteCute pics....Carson, what is the square hole in the door for?
ReplyDeleteCindy, I can answer that, it's so no one gets locked in the feed room!
ReplyDeleteI'm with Smooch. Watch it carefully, verrrry carefully. You just never know.
ReplyDeleteWell at least you scared the chickens. They erred on the side of caution. Smart girls. Smooch so wants to go after it.
ReplyDeleteBwahahahaha! "The Revenge of the Spiders!"
ReplyDeleteThose chickens are probably smarter than you think. That's one BIG tarantula, and they figure this is one time the bugger might just come out ahead!
ReplyDeleteVery clever. I loved their reactions!!
ReplyDeleteNever eat anything bigger than your head!
ReplyDeleteBah, ha, ha, ha!
ReplyDeleteThat was the best Halloween trick ever
ReplyDeleteThanks for the laugh!
I laughed and laughed at that last picture! Hilarious!
