On the same wavelength

Hank has been an only horse for a little more than two and a half years. I worried that he would never adjust to life without Lyle,
but I couldn't have been more wrong. With each passing month, he has become more laid back, less flighty, and well...more like a burro.

Pssst...Hank...wake up! I'm talking about you.

I'll be hauling Hank to the vet next week for his annual physical, and I'm sure the x-rays will show his knee has gotten a little worse,
but it is what it is. He's content, he's otherwise healthy, and he's the very best pal to hang out with. Even George thinks so.

  1. Hank does, indeed, look nice and calm and comfy. I meant to say before that his hind quarters are beautifully muscled.
I worried that Angus would feel lonely after his poodle brother's demise, but he's livin' the dream!

  6. It really is wonderful that he is now a part of the burro herd. ((sigh))
It's hard to believe it's been 2+ years since Lyle's been gone.

  7. I love Hank.
As a kid I had a terrible experience with a horse and have been horse shy ever since, but Handsome Hank has changed my whole attitude about horses....well the ones disguised as a burros big buddy, anyway, Smooches and Squoozes to 7MSN, Oma Linda

  11. I can't believe it's almost two and a half years since you had to say goodbye to Lyle.

I know what you mean about Hank adjusting, so it's great to see he's happy in himself. Happiness & security go a long way to balancing physical degeneration - as I'm personally finding out!

  14. I have heard that a single horse really thrives best with a burro buddy or two. Sure looks true! Best to Hank on his doctor's visit.
