...and I can't think of a title for this post.
I took these pictures at sunset last night.
The smoke from the wildfires down south is still floating this way.
The light is great; the smell and taste, not so much.
I'm hoping to have some crystal clear pictures for you tomorrow, though –
taken high above Albuquerque, from a hot-air balloon. Yeah, I'm kind of excited.
A couple of inches of wicker basket and then a few thousand feet of air beneath your feet.... Yes that sounds like you should be excited. Actually, I've always wanted to do it too. I hope you have a great flight.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great flight!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness these pics need no words or title........absolutely wonderful !!! enjoy your balloon ride....I do every time.....cant wait to go again!!
ReplyDelete~~Rain
That should be fun. Can't wait to see the pictures. There seems to be smoke everywhere in the southwest.
ReplyDeleteI remember that smell. When there was a fire in the Santa Cruz mountains a couple of years ago, it was blowing up to our area. Long after the flames were out, I had to wash clothing before wearing it because the smoke had gotten into our drawers. We were 50 miles away. I hope it ends soon--for all of your sakes.
ReplyDeleteOh, my, that's my dream! Have a wonderful time!
ReplyDeleteYour smoke has been visiting us, too. The other night I woke up and smelled the acrid odor of burning wood. It was so strong I got up to make sure there weren't flames in the distance. But, it was all from the NM fire. Yikes!
You'll love it! It's so peaceful, just floating around up there. It would be really cool to go over your ranch!
ReplyDeleteI disagree ... those are wonderful pictures and that first one with Hank ... looks like a really good oil painting! Have fun in the balloon!! Hugs from Marcia in CO
ReplyDeleteLovely photos, especially the one of Smooch.
ReplyDeleteAwesome! Will it be your first balloon ride?? If so, you're gonna LOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteI love the light behind Smooch's ears :)
ReplyDeleteAnd my wife thought I was in my second childhood! Hot air balloons? I always wanted to try that. Stay safe, and don't drop the camera. I am looking forward to the pictures.
ReplyDeleteHeard on the news this morning that is the largest wildfire in NM history and it is at zero containment. Hope they get a handle on it soon. It makes for fantastic pictures but not good for health. Take care. Have fun in the hot air balloon.
ReplyDeleteHope your day away from the stinky and lunch choking smoke was a good one. Oma Linda
ReplyDeleteHank's mane is so pretty in his sunset shot. Smooch looks like she might want to go back to the house. Dang those fires. Hope they're out soon.
ReplyDeleteA pigeon?
ReplyDeleteThey are beautiful images, but yuck. I'm so excited for your hot air balloon trip! Dress warmly, I'm told it gets a bit nippy up there.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful ! and maybe the best photo of Hank EVER !!
ReplyDeleteHope you're loving your flight !!
I am so excited to hear about your flight! Have fun!
ReplyDeleteBTW, great photos. Sorry about the smoke and wildfires.
Oh, I have ALWAYS wanted to go up in a hot air balloon !! The pictures are so gorgeous, thanks for sharing with all of us out here :) Jeanne from SC
