The smoke is clogging my brain...

...and I can't think of a title for this post.

I took these pictures at sunset last night.

The smoke from the wildfires down south is still floating this way.

The light is great; the smell and taste, not so much.

I'm hoping to have some crystal clear pictures for you tomorrow, though –
taken high above Albuquerque, from a hot-air balloon. Yeah, I'm kind of excited.

A couple of inches of wicker basket and then a few thousand feet of air beneath your feet.... Yes that sounds like you should be excited. Actually, I've always wanted to do it too. I hope you have a great flight.

  4. That should be fun. Can't wait to see the pictures. There seems to be smoke everywhere in the southwest.

  5. I remember that smell. When there was a fire in the Santa Cruz mountains a couple of years ago, it was blowing up to our area. Long after the flames were out, I had to wash clothing before wearing it because the smoke had gotten into our drawers. We were 50 miles away. I hope it ends soon--for all of your sakes.

  6. Oh, my, that's my dream! Have a wonderful time!
Your smoke has been visiting us, too. The other night I woke up and smelled the acrid odor of burning wood. It was so strong I got up to make sure there weren't flames in the distance. But, it was all from the NM fire. Yikes!

  7. You'll love it! It's so peaceful, just floating around up there. It would be really cool to go over your ranch!

  12. And my wife thought I was in my second childhood! Hot air balloons? I always wanted to try that. Stay safe, and don't drop the camera. I am looking forward to the pictures.

  13. Heard on the news this morning that is the largest wildfire in NM history and it is at zero containment. Hope they get a handle on it soon. It makes for fantastic pictures but not good for health. Take care. Have fun in the hot air balloon.

  15. Hank's mane is so pretty in his sunset shot. Smooch looks like she might want to go back to the house. Dang those fires. Hope they're out soon.
