I'll swear it was just two weekends ago that Lucy and I waited until mid-afternoon to ride so that we wouldn't freeze.
Yesterday, we had to leave by 8 to beat the heat.
When we got home, the boys were hanging out behind the barn in the shade, bemoaning their still-furry winter coats.
Alan: I'm cute even when I'm scruffy.
Me: Hank, wake up. We're home.
Hank: Did you pick up some ice cream?
I rather enjoyed the 80-degree day. The summer heat may be here but the summer bugs are not,
so it was a perfect afternoon to chop down trees,
except that nobody wanted to leave the shade to keep me company.
I think they were holding out for some watermelon!
ReplyDeleteCarson, it was warm over here, too! It was 90 on Thursday and Friday~ ACK! I'm not ready for that!
ReplyDeleteIt's been warm here and so dry. Hoping to get some rain soon. Glad you got to enjoy a ride this weekend. It's watermelon time so they gang can do the watermelon dance.
ReplyDeleteWe're getting a fresh dusting of snow this morning....go figure.
ReplyDeleteI think Alan is adorable BECAUSE he's scruffy. *grin*
Record rainfall here. Yesterday broke all prior Oregon records for *the* wettest March ever. Flooding, mud, oh - and it's 40 degrees.
ReplyDelete80 degrees does sound a bit high for end of March, though, even for New Mexico. Is that normal for this time of year?
It seems like everyone's weather is weird. Seems like your help is a bunch so 'slackers'. What are they going to do when it gets really hot? Can't say as I blame them though. ... our hot weather came on so fast that I'm even having a hard time dealing with it!
