How I spent my spring vacation, day three

What a stinkin' beautiful day. Eighty degrees, a whisper of a breeze, not a cloud in sight.
Couldn't ask for a better morning to ... vaccinate the herd and paint the chicken coop!
The vaccinations transpired without incident. How boring. But in a good way.

Let the painting begin.

I slapped on the turquoise trim while Danni meticulously painted every nook and cranny of the siding.

She may have been Rembrandt in a former life.

I loved the way it turned out, but as I stood back admiring our work, I sensed something was missing.
The painting lacked that special element that would distinguish it from
all the other run-of-the-mill Santa-Fe style chicken coops.

So Danni brought in the artist formerly known as Eugenia to add her signature touch.

The artist formerly known as Eugenia: Hurry, Danni, before I lose my inspiration.

The artist formerly known as Eugenia: Whoa, Nelly!
I'm not so sure I want to share my studio with a dead cow.

T. A. F. K. A. Eugenia: You stay on your side, and I'll stay on mine.

T. A. F. K. A. Eugenia: One more print down here should do it.

Note to the PETA people: No chickens were harmed during the painting of this chicken coop,
and we thoroughly washed T.A.F.K.A. Eugenia's foot as soon as she finished her masterpiece.

Then the other artists who collaborated on the painting had to sign it.

If you're looking at this picture and shouting "you missed a spot! you missed a spot!" Relax.
I was just waiting for the doors to dry before I finished the trim. Sidewalk supervisors...I swear.

I told Rembrandt to wear a smock but did she listen? No.

p.s. Danni's shirt is from The Donkey Sanctuary of Canada

Okay. I'll ask, but someone else has to answer.... "Why did the chicken walk up the side of the chicken coop?"

  3. Danni will keep memories alive with the chicken coup hotel paint every time she wears those jeans.
Love the color. I was in NM once and I saw these great colors everywhere. Turquoise jewelery, and red earthy homes made from some kind of clay or mud. Santa Fe comes to mind first off as it was beautiful there. Lots to do and see.
    Best always, Sandra
