George: Mom, what are you doing?
Me: Taking pictures of the grass growing. What can I say? It's been a slow news day.
Me: Don't be looking down your nose at me.
I can't help it. I find growing grass exciting.
It's a nice change of pace from watching the herd eat cactus and trees.
It's a nice change of pace from watching the herd eat cactus and trees.
I was so preoccupied with the little green sprouts last night
that I was oblivious to the developing storm in the background.
George: What the hell...
George noticed it first, then Lucy came over to tell me the news.
Then George circled back to be sure I got the message.
George: The sky is falling! The sky is falling!
George: The sky is falling! The sky is falling!
Sure enough, Mother Nature was playing a rude little trick on us
after a week of summerlike weather.
Hank couldn't be happier with the snow and the sudden drop in temperature.
Unlike me, who galloped into the house to build a fire in the woodstove.
The snow turned to sleet, then back to snow, then sleet, then the clouds parted and the stars came out.
With any luck, the little bit of moisture will be just enough to kickstart the grass and make those little green sprouts as happy as Hank.
Talk about crazy weather! Seems we're all getting our share, but if it makes your pastures grow, that's all that counts.
ReplyDeleteI love to see Hank's mane flying!
ReplyDeleteOh wow! Look how happy, Hank is. He's just giddy about the cooler air. Love this.
ReplyDeleteOh, beautiful, joyful Hank! How much fun he is having! Knee? What knee?
ReplyDeleteOh, boy! Hank sure is happy!
ReplyDeleteIt rained here. All night long. Morning Bray Pond is back.
ReplyDeleteHank does look quite pleased. :)
Silly weather! Hopefully, their grass will grow a tiny bit more today.
ReplyDeleteI can't stop looking at Georgie's eyes in that first picture, he's so curious. Love these guys!

Rained all night....woke to snow and it's still snowing this morning but we all can use the moisture but Hank and the grass are probably the only ones really happy. Welcome to spring huh? Oma Linda
ReplyDeleteI'm with Hank. I'd gallop with joy, too, if we somehow managed some snow this year. I'm in Atlanta. Maybe next year?
ReplyDeleteMother Nature is being fickle here too. Hank has a good attitude about it.
ReplyDeleteLOVE that pic of Hank!!! hard to believe you got snow when it is so stikin' hot here in the South!!
ReplyDeleteWow, you have a new header since I last visited too. I sure have missed reading your posts. Hopefully it won't take me as long to get back here. Your place feels like home.
ReplyDeleteThis goofy weather is sure reeking lots of havoc. Hopefully it's nothing more than an inconvenience for you and yours.
