Alan: Mirror, mirror, on the ground, who's the fairest one around?
Lucy: That would be me.
Hank: I beg to differ. I outshine you both.
Alan: I have had it up to here with your ego, Mr. Big Butt.
Hank: I'm going to pretend you never said that.
Alan: I suppose it's time I've learned to accept my fate as low man on this totem pole.
Hank: Run along, short stuff. I will always be older, wiser, and taller than you.
Alan: My ears are longer. I win.
I got a good giggle over this post, but hate it that it was at Alan's expense. He's such a love bug though ... gotta love him.
ReplyDeleteRain, what a blesssing. And a wonderful sequence of photos and comments. Surprised to see Alan seeking shelter from Lucy.
ReplyDeleteIt's official I'm in love with Alan :D
ReplyDeleteI mean how can one argue with "my ears are longer I win"?
Is Lucy giving Alan a non-body-contact hug there? I think that's the first time I've seen her being affectionate with her herdmates.
ReplyDeleteAlan wins the nostril flaring contest - hands down. ;)
ReplyDeleteGlad to see the buckets of rain making mirrors for the farm crew. I bet our famous pig will be out using it for a bathtub soon.
ReplyDeleteBest always,
Sandra
hmm... I have a feeling Alan's ego is just as big as Hanks... :) He is adorable and what wonderful shots you go from that puddle! Perfection.
ReplyDeleteAlan Wins! Always gotta root for the black "sheep" in the bunch. Give 'im a hug from me, ok?
ReplyDeleteI love it! I love how you've documented your herds life.
ReplyDeleteOn a side note have you seen todays wallstreet journal? Front page is a little article about people racing pack donkeys. Apparently the donkey carries old prospecting gear while the person runs with the donkey.
Yes!! Alan wins! Long ears rule, big butts drool... :D
ReplyDeleteSibling Rivalry knows no bounds eh ;-)
ReplyDeleteAwwww...they're all so darn CUTE! Glad you got some rain. We had 4 days of thunderstorms and some rain over here. It's all gone now and yesterday it was 116 degrees here!
ReplyDeleteAww. I love you, Alan.
ReplyDeleteYou so totally crack me up. Their conversations just roll me out of my chair with laughter... Seriously, where do you come up with this? Love the way your brain works.
ReplyDeleteDi
Wow. You got a lot more rain than we did. Looks like Lucy is sorta taking a liking to Alan...or she's just using him as a headrest. :)
ReplyDeleteI agree-longears win!
Love you have taken the time to paint everyone's hooves red. Very fashion forward!
ReplyDeleteAwww, that's a sweet fairytale! Alan is, by far, the cutest one with his long ears!
ReplyDeleteAlan, Alan, he's our man,
ReplyDeleteIf his big ears don't win, then no one's can. Yeah Alan.
What a cute series of photos.
Second last phoho- "Lucy, Hanks buggin' me!"
ReplyDeleteLucy looks like she is willing to stand up to Hank.
Wow. You still have a lot of that wet stuff. I sure like Lucy's spots.
ReplyDeleteI know I've said it before, I just love Alan's lips! (can I call them lips?) Not in a weird way, they are just cute!
ReplyDeleteLucy has such beautiful markings on her sides! No wonder she thinks she is the fairest.
ReplyDeleteHow is it that Lucy is so much bigger than the other donks? Is she a different variety? It seems like there's such a variety of sizes, colors, and coat types in donkeys.
ReplyDeleteAlan is the bomb!
ReplyDeleteLove the captions !(and the photos, too, of course).
ReplyDeletePoor Alan - so glad he wins in the ear department.
I love it. Great post. So fun that you captured their reflections like that. Their dialog is very entertaining.
ReplyDeleteNext time you scritch Alan tell him that of the 7MSN gang he's tops with me :)
