Lucy: Yes, please.
Lucy is finally letting go of her winter coat. It's about time. Donkeys shed out so much later than horses. And just about the time they've let it all go, they start working on their coat for next winter. I figure it's nature's way of shielding them from bugs.
Me and my furminator have been helping Lucy off with her coat for the past month. We're still not done, but we're getting closer.
Look! There is a donkey under there after all.
The upper-body workout one gets when furminating a donkey cannot be underestimated.
Oh, dear. I fear I may have gone too far. There's nothing left of her.
Furminated to death? Now there's a movie plot if ever I heard one... LOL

ReplyDeleteI love how securely she is cinched to that hitching rail. Good Donkey!
ReplyDeleteLucy is such a pretty girl, now with her furmination.....talent scouts are gonna be pestering you and filling her head with ideas of Hollywood.
ReplyDeleteI just love the second picture, kinda regal looking.
I loved my (very expensive) furminator, but my kids decided it would work well to break ice last winter. :(
ReplyDeleteI think your idea about keeping hair longer makes perfect sense. Bugs are so troublesome.
Love your nice shady tack area.
ReplyDeleteMuch better! My donk is the same way. I brush and brush and wonder if he will EVER shed all the way out.
ReplyDeleteI furminated my cat once. She won't let me do it again. Sure does work, though, doesn't it?
ReplyDeleteHi Linda - I seem to be having a really hard time getting a comment to post on your blog since you changed things around. Don't know what I'm doing wrong. C in WI
ReplyDeleteI furminate my yellow lab, but she doesn't really like it. She sheds like crazy pretty much constantly though, so I keep doing it.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you've killed the Sheep Dog ....
ReplyDeleteLucy looks great! My donkey looks kinda patchy right now...his hair is hanging on for dear life! I agree, the donks seem to be slicked out for about a week before they start their new winter coats again. :)
ReplyDeleteWow, she's lookin goooood!
