On hot, sunny, windless mornings, I only have to look in one spot to find Lucy and the boys.
They know they can catch a gentle cross breeze – and a nap – if they stand in the open doorway at the back of the barn.
It would take a lot more to snap them out of their trance than somebody sitting in the dirt at their feet taking pictures.
I might nod off myself down here.
Me: You guys are boring. I'm going back in the house. Don't exert yourselves.
Lucy: zzzzzzzzzzzz
Lucy has perfect lips for zzzzzz.....
ReplyDelete(I just woke up and watching them makes me want to go back to bed!)
An afternoon snooze in the shade!! sounds good to me eh! um,,,what is it like to have HOT weather? It has been so long here in northern Alberta that many of us have forgotten :-(
ReplyDeleteGeorge's neck looks like he at least shaved this morning. What a hoot he looks like from below. In a frontal view he looks cute but from below he looks like a goober. HAH
ReplyDeleteThanks for keeping up the snaps in the heat you must be braving.
These photos are priceless! Love the facial expressions from down there in the dirt.

oh my gosh, they look almost human from that angle, so sweet and gentle.
ReplyDeleteI love the third photo's perspective! Snoozing the afternoon away sounds like bliss...
ReplyDeleteThey all look like Amused Philosophers.
ReplyDeleteInteresting herd dynamics there; has George resumed top burro role? I see he has the best spot. Or maybe Lucy is too hot to be bothered.
ReplyDeleteAdorable, each and every one. Makes me want to plant a kiss on their soft muzzles.
ReplyDeletei sure hope they don't drool in their sleep with you lying on the ground like that =o)
ReplyDeleteThey are so. stinkin'. cute!

oh my goodness.... if those aren't the faces of complete bliss and relaxation, I don't know what is; I think that I have said it before... when I come back, I want to come back as one of your pets!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the floppy lower lip! I used to put carrot slices in my horses lip when she was sleeping, she wouldnt notice for the longest time!
ReplyDeleteIs Hank staring at the wall, like the chix?
ReplyDeleteThey are the cutest! It's like they were posing for the camera.
ReplyDeleteGeorge & Lucy do appear to be in a trance. He is sure blocking the open door. At least Alan moved.......
ReplyDeleteLook at them chubby bellies! Wynonna has competition!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! My donkeys have yet to shed out up here in BC Canada! We're working on it, thanks to the shedding blade but could use some of your warmth and sunshine!
ReplyDeleteLove those pictures!!
