At the crack of dawn

I'm a morning person. Always have been, probably always will be. I sleep with the shades open and wake up at the crack of dawn, which these days is a little before 5. I know that sounds ungodly early to you non-morning people, but when you go to sleep before Letterman starts, it's really not too bad.

Yesterday morning, I made it outside before the boys and Lucy made it back to the barn from wherever it is that they spend the night. If I were a night person, I would know where that is but since I'm not, I don't.

Anyway, once I realized the herd was still out on the range, I grabbed my camera and went to find them.

Hank: What are you doing out here this early?

Me: Looking for you. What are you doing?

Hank: Looking for Lucy, George and Alan. I hate it when they wander off. 

Don't they know it's time for breakfast?

Me: Don't worry. Here they come now.

Lucy: You're up early. Does that mean we get pancakes for breakfast?

Me: No.

Lucy: Then how about some coffee? My ear could use a little pick-me-up.

Once I got everybody fed and the rest of the morning chores done, I headed back in the house to take a shower and get ready to go to town for some meetings. But not before the weirdest thing that has ever happened at the 7MSN Ranch happened. It was so weird, I'm still having trouble believing it. Perhaps I need to re-enact it and blog about it so that I can make sense of it. Yes, I think I will do that. Tomorrow.
