Yesterday morning, I made it outside before the boys and Lucy made it back to the barn from wherever it is that they spend the night. If I were a night person, I would know where that is but since I'm not, I don't.
Anyway, once I realized the herd was still out on the range, I grabbed my camera and went to find them.
Hank: What are you doing out here this early?
Me: Looking for you. What are you doing?
Hank: Looking for Lucy, George and Alan. I hate it when they wander off.
Don't they know it's time for breakfast?
Me: Don't worry. Here they come now.
Lucy: You're up early. Does that mean we get pancakes for breakfast?
Me: No.
Lucy: Then how about some coffee? My ear could use a little pick-me-up.
Once I got everybody fed and the rest of the morning chores done, I headed back in the house to take a shower and get ready to go to town for some meetings. But not before the weirdest thing that has ever happened at the 7MSN Ranch happened. It was so weird, I'm still having trouble believing it. Perhaps I need to re-enact it and blog about it so that I can make sense of it. Yes, I think I will do that. Tomorrow.
I am a morning person also, usually getting up at 5 also. My favorite time of day .. my 'me' time.
ReplyDeleteI can hardly wait for tomorrow! Wondering, wondering .......
6:30 am is crazy early for this night owl, especially in the summer! But I'm trying to change my ways and I do love being outside in the early morning. Hank, Lucy and the gang are adorable. Just love the look of your ranch in the morning. I hope to have a horse (leasing for now) soon...
ReplyDeleteOh, no...a cliff hanger!
ReplyDeleteI am a morning person, too. Who's Letterman?
:)
What a wonderful group of pictures. Thank you for the cliff hanger! Hope you have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteNow that's called a cliff hanger ending.... you little snot, you....
ReplyDeleteDI
Ugh ... I'm so not a morning person and I KNOW I'm missing stuff in those early hours. Love Lucy leading the pack in ...
ReplyDeleteuntil tomorrow!
NOT FAIR! Pins and needles till tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteI'm only a morning person in the summertime. I love the light and the dawn chorus and the warmth. In winter I could stay in bed till summer.
You are such a tease!
ReplyDeleteEven though I have raised 2 children & worked a 1st shift job for the last 20 years, it is NOT in my nature to get up early....can't wait for tomorrow's blog..
ReplyDeleteOK,,now I am really curious!! It is amazing how the burro's are such creatures of habit....they were all getting into line to come home...(referring to the worn path on the ground)
ReplyDeletea nice mom would have made pancakes eh ;-)
I don't do early early morning. If I do it's only for a few minutes and then I get back to bed. I do, do very, very late though...after everyone has gone to bed...it's the best time for doing (for me).
ReplyDeleteAnd I can hardly wait for the next installment.........
The Olde Bagg
I go along with JMG what a tease. Looking forward to tomorrow. Just LOVE your kids. They ALWAYS bring a smile to my face and a giggle to my heart.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait for tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteAnd Lucy looks really sleek and stylish without her winter fur!
I was never a morning person...until my new puppy...6 am is sleeping late now...but weirdly enough I'm enjoying it.
ReplyDeleteCarson, you're such a tease!
I am a morning person too. I rarely sleep past 5, but the early light of summer has me waking by 4 these days(we don't change our clocks)! Love the comment on the last photo of Lucy! I can't wait to see what happened! ack!
ReplyDeleteOh yea, way to leave us hanging while you go off to meetings.
ReplyDeleteI'm a morning person, too. We should do coffee. Wait, you live in NM and I live in Texas. Well, it was a thought.
I wake up at 5am in the summer too. The dogs and cat do too.
ReplyDeleteYou just love keeping us in suspense, don't you? :-)
Oh! A cliff hanger! That's cruel.
ReplyDeleteI so love the morning light you get there. It's positively dreamy. Nice subjects, too, I must say. *grin*
Morning person here too! I love to hear the birds singing at the break of dawn, and mornings are best because nothing has gone wrong yet... at least I hope so, what with your cliff-hanger comment!
ReplyDeleteThe only thing I can think of is your chickens all took a ride on Hank, Lucy, Alan and George?!! LOL
ReplyDeleteAnother great post......suspense notwithstanding.
ReplyDeleteA Cliff-Hanger! How dare you do that to us? Well, I've seen snakes and spiders and what else on your ranch...I can't imagine what happened.
ReplyDeletexo, Cheryl
Ahh the agony of having to wait until tomorrow - and I'm a morning person on East Coast time, so I hope you get up early again and start blogging. I don't know why but Lucy's ears remind me of feathers in that photo - kind of like a Native American head dress. So cute!
ReplyDeleteI'm a morning person too. I never set my alarm and just wake up every half hour or so from 5:00 on. However I am reluctant to get up before 6:30 because I rarely go to bed before 11:30. If only I never had to sleep...
ReplyDeleteLovely photos!
